I just re-read my post and I hope I didn't make it seem like boxing is going to die. It certainly isn't because it offers something MMA can't which is pure stand-up fighting. But boxing's market share will continue to drop in North America and Japan and other areas (probbaly South America and parts of Europe).

And it is possible that MMA is the new kickboxing. A sport that seemed like it was going to takeoff but never did outside of certain regions. However, MMA is already more popular than kickboxing ever was and only seems to be growing.

Naw, UFC/MMA is pretty big in Canada.

It's really no surprise since WWE/Rassling is also very big, they both have the same demographic.

Bull****, UFC got nothing on boxing and we all know it, just because it got a bit of fame don't mean ****, boxing been around forever and forever will reign.

boxing needs to find a way to promote these smaller cards and venues. a centralized boxing "league" would work but I don't think that will happen without some major overhaul.

I think boxing has fallen as far as it will in the US. With Golden Boy's "Fight Night Club" on Versus, the great Cubans on Friday Night Fights, and HBO showing better fights this year (for the most part), boxing's future looks bright in my eyes. If I had to bet, I'd say Golden Boy puts a boxing card on CBS, NBC, ABC, or Fox multiple times in 2010.

UFC is milked until the ******* is dry, its sports entertainment focusing on the entertainment part, while boxing is sports entertainment focusing on the sports part.

What difference does it make? Pride sold out to Dana White and Zuffa...sue them I guess LOL, I'm sure you would've accepted that check with open arms.

Why do all these "crazed" Boxing fans cry so much because MMA is getting attention? I mean, it's not hurting your feelings or anything, is it? So why do Boxing fans gets so offended when anyone mentions MMA and Boxing in the same sentence or in this case the UFC getting more coverage than Boxing?

LOL ya'll need to get a grip, its Apples and Oranges. If you like or don't like the sport, leave it alone.
