Cotto has stated that he would love Mayweather fight many times. His actions by taking on the best 147 has to offer is as clear an indicator of what direction he wants to go as any.

Let me flip the script for a second here. What is more appealing to you, as a boxing fan.....Cotto being respectful, yet taking on the best at 147 time and again? Or Floyd saying he'll fight anybody, yet we're still waiting for that to happen after more than 3 years? As a fan of the SPORT, I'll take hat Cotto does over what Floyd does any day.

Cotto wasn't ready and Hatton didn't want to fight him so he moved up in weight to 147 to chase bigger money and he fought Zab Judah and then he was called out for supposedly ducking Ricky Hatton and Baldomir who had beat Judah for the lineal belt and who walks around at 180+. So after he beats Judah then makes Baldomir look like an Amateur. He moves up to fight another Bigger Man- De la Hoya at 154, a weight he never fought at and fights with gloves he doesn't wear and in a smaller ring. Then he retires and Hatton disrespects him on HBO, so he comes back to 147 to drum Hatton's head in who at the time was the 140 lineal champ, undefeated and everyone believed scared Mayweather out of 140lb division but yet he is dissed for not fighting real welterweights he fough Judah the former welterweight lineal champ, baldomir the lineal welterweight champ, De la Hoya the 154 WBC champ and Ricky Hatton who outweighs Floyd by like 15 pounds but cuts to 140 and he is pickiung on the little guy his entire career he has fought bigger opponents. And you wanna take Cotto you're either crazy or know nothing about Boxing.

the reason Floyd didn't fight Margarito is it didn't make sense to he was a nobody an no one knew who he was or ever seen him fight. If he loses to Margarito, then Margarito becomes the biggest thing in boxing, but if Floyd beats Margarito then it would mean nothing except Floyd beat a guy who already had losses on his record, so the critics would say we knew you were going to win Floyd.
