Im not a big "You have to be a big PPV draw to get a fight", but After doing some reading and stuff, I realiza mayweather is not that big a of a draw.

The dude Biggest PPV Number Without DLH and Without Hatton is 365K. The fans that tune in to watch Mayweather-DLH was becaise they wanted Floyd to get beat nothing more. And the Hatton-FLoyd FIght, well FLoyd had some of DLHs stardom, plus Rickys Army of fans.

This **** gets played out to much by him, his team and his nuthuggers in NSB.

Manny is in the same bout, Tale away his fights with the 2 biggest CashCows on tehir sport and his bigest PPV nmber is like 370K I believe. If Im wrong Correct me.

After Fighting and Hatton and DLH now they ae big draws, because they took that stardom form thise 2 guys who have a Huge ARMY of Fans.

The thing is Cotto in his fight Margarito landed 440,400 PPV buys. He sold out MSG 2 and having a attendance record at MSg in his fight with Judah.

Then you have Margarito, who sold out and have the biggest crown ever at Staples. So I think he have a say on teh matter too.


SO why all of this Mayweather and Pacquiao has been bigger draw, when Cotto have had equal or better succes at selling., When not talking DLH or hatton?

I think if Cotto would of fought this 2 guys(Hatton and DLH) he would of been a bigger Draw than manny and Floyd. And Margarito too.

Fraud jr's true test of ppv power was baldomir & judah. Now with the marquez fight. The fact that he's american & he only outsold Pac vs hatton by less than 100k in a bad economy says a lot about Pacquiao's (who isnt american, doesnt live in america & can barely speak english while at the same time not a flashy personality) drawing power.

365K vs. Gatti -- Very respectable number for Floyd's first PPV especially considering that Gatti didn't promote the fight.. He provided the fans with an annihilation of Gatti.

375K vs. Judah -- Another very impressive number considering Judah was coming off the tough Baldomir loss and Judah too decided not to promote the PPV. So Floyd promoted his first two PPVs by himself.

325K vs. Baldomir -- This was the dissapointing number as it failed to increase like the last one did. Once again Floyd was left to do the promotion by himself as Baldomir spoke no English and it was Baldomir's first PPV. The fight was not a matchup conducive to high PPV sales ala Pacquiao-Diaz. Floyd took the fight for a cool $8 million and a lineal WW belt.

2.44M vs. De La Hoya -- Richest fight in boxing history. Bigger than Tyson-Holyfield, Tyson-Lewis, De La Hoya-Trinidad, etc. Made Floyd Mayweather a household name in the US. Floyd became known for his villian personality.

915K vs. Hatton -- This was Hatton's first time on PPV ever. Floyd played the villian again, took home some cool cash along with Hatton's zero and chin.

Floyd will do about 600K vs. Marquez entitling him to a 55-45 split vs. Pacquiao.

I dont understand why people wont give Floyd some credit for the hatton and DLH fight.The DLH reached 2.4m not only because of fishnets but Floyd had a huge impact on that playing the badguy/******* same with hatton.I dont think if Cotto had fought DLH it would reach that kind of numbers I really dont even think that a DLH-Cotto fight would reach 1.2m PPV buys.
