      2.5M PPV Buys against DLH

and I'm expecting 550K PPV buys against JMM.
      PAC-JMM did 400k ppv @130 without the benefit of 24/7 ....

imho 550k is good enough estimate... and wont surprise me if it goes 600k up...

Fraud jr & his nut huggin friends like to add a couple of thousands to their ppv buys.

Fraud jr's true test of ppv power was baldomir & judah. Now with the marquez fight. The fact that he's american & he only outsold Pac vs hatton by less than 100k in a bad economy says a lot about Pacquiao's (who isnt american, doesnt live in america & can barely speak english while at the same time not a flashy personality) drawing power.
          PBF vs DLH 2.4
          Pac vs DLH 1.1

Lets hear your excuse now!!! Hell my mother knows who Floyd is but when I asked her if she knew Pacquio she thought he was an Indy Car driver. lol

          FLOYD IS THE DRAW!!!!

apparently if you're a boxing fan PPVs is as important to a fighter as skills, styles, persona and resumes.

            sorry but...

its the latter that gives substance to the former

The problem with this thread is it isn't a logical statement. The thread starter says LOL at Floyd and Manny being big draws but later says that you can't include the De La Hoya and Hatton fights and later says they are draws now because of De La Hoya and Hatton. First he said they weren't big draws. I agree that De La Hoya made them much bigger draws but in that case he might as well say LOL at these guys being big draws before De La Hoya. We live in real time and it is a FACT that they are big draws now. Who cares if they were draws before their De La Hoya fights. They fought him, won and became much bigger SUPERSTARS. Cotto had his chance. He had a matchup with De La Hoya in the works and lost to Marg. That's where Pac's name came in. While it is true that De La Hoya was a much bigger draw then any of his opponents, you can't deny the fact that the Mayweather fight did over 1 million more buys than ANY previous De La Hoya fight. Obviously Floyd had to be some kind of draw to generate those kind of numbers. Floyd did his part in promoting that fight for sure. And his fight with Pac, while not as big as the Trinidad fight, was just below so Pac was some kind of a draw. And people need to stop with saying it was Ricky Hatton that made those two Pay Per Views successful in the US. He is a MEGA star in UK but had never, ever been on PPV in the US and I bet his fight on Showtime with Kostya Tszyu didn't even draw that many viewers here. His name was made in the US because of 24/7 and the fight with Mayweather. He gets credit for all the UK numbers but not US, sorry. After that fight a lot of people knew Hatton and thought he had a great personality and that did help draw people for the Pacquiao fight. But who was Ricky Hatton to most American viewers before 24/7? We hardcore boxing fans knew him but that was it. He had two fights on HBO against Collazo and Castillo that didn't do too well and couldn't be on PPV. If either of those fights were on PPV in the US they would have been lucky to do 150k buys.
