Louis had the right idea on how to attack Ali but I see Ali as a bad match-up for Louis.

If you've ever read Louis' writings and interviews from the 1960's, he had thought of the same gameplan which Frazier and Norton later used. Tough to say whether he could actually execute it against a prime Ali and win but I wouldn't count out that possibility.

boxers in joe Louis's era really couldnt box, they just didnt know the noble art like they do these days.
In Ali's era they were starting to learn

So i guess its Ali all the way but he would easily get outboxed by someone like Roy Jones or Lennox Lewis

Tell Jersey Joe Walcott that he didn't know how to box.

          Ali outboxed by Roy Jones?

Ali wins because he is the all mighty king of boxing and can never be beaten. Just sayin.

joe louis is a top 3 heavyweight but to say he would beat ali is absurd....he fought the light heavyweight champion billy conn who had like 10 kos and got dropped and was losing on the scorecards until he knocked him out in the 13th.....

He was not knocked down by Conn.

Henry Cooper was no more than a light heavyweight but he legit knocked down Ali. Doug Jones was a former LHW contender and had a close fight with Ali.

I've always liked this article. Not saying this is the way things would go for sure. but it makes great points.
