In a straight fight, Mosley DEMOLISHED Margarito... becoming the recognized man.

Cotto needs to beat Shane, or Shane needs to lose and Cotto needs to beat Clottey, for him to become the man again.

    IMO anyway.
Yeh but was that a straight fight?

I dont think theres a "recognised man" or dominant champ really. They're all beating each other. Paul Williams has just as much a stake.

But Im just saying, if I were to rank them, Cotto would be ahead of Shane based on the fact that he beat him

I suppose Id rank Shane higher because he was barely beaten by Cotto. Where as Cotto and Margarito were both stopped. Shane beating the man who beat the man in a more devastating fashion than he was beaten.

      It's opinion based.

Yeah it is. I mean I rank JMM as p4p number 1 cos I think he beat Pac twice. Shane n Cotto definitely need to get it on again.

Pac would fight anyone. When have u ever heard of him making excuses or ducking a particular fighter? Morales 3x, Barrera 2x, Marquez 2x, Hatton the 140lb undefeated champ, and is in line to face either Floyd, Marquez, Shane, or Cotto.

What more can u ask for?

Cotto has beaten top competition in the WW division but I have some observations that the writer conveniently decided to overlook
-After Williams beat Margocheato no one including Team Cotto wanted any peice of Williams. The reason why he's fighting at 154 is because no ONE would fight him at 147
-Other note SSM has been vocal about a rematch with Cotto, just recently he started this Pacquiao talk (for obvious reasons). In addition, SSM has backed down from matches before. The one that comes to mind is when he turned floyd because of a toothache
Good article but the writer is obviously bias towards cotto. I don't really blame him too much but it had to be said

Floyd fans take notice. This is not just one man's opinion. It's the truth.

whats the big deal with this guy!!

What s the hype this guy is not all that! SHANE kicked his butt and they stole the fight from him!!!!SUGAR has been the best jr welterweight for about the last 10 yrs, and is not getting the credit he deserves , the only losses he has is against bigger opponents!!!Forrest and Winky this boxers could fight at super middleweight against Bernard Hopkins ,So Cotto is not even good enough to fight Pacquiao thats why he doesn't want to give a few pounds to fight him,'cause he knows he'll lose !!!!where Shane is willing, i am a Mexican-American i its ard to admit it,in other weight classes we are the best but in the jr ww Shane is the King! besides he is from Cali and down with the raza!!

You just ruined your credibility with that one.

Boxing needs more Cotto's, he doesn't avoid anyone and that's the way it should be. Even if you lose some on the way it's alot more credible than ducking fights and staying undefeated.
