Does the Welterweight Division need PacMan?

pacquiao is ****ing up the whole division. he should forget about these catchweights and just fight at 140. eighter at 140 or step the **** up and fight at 147 without no damn catchweights. no division depends or needs a single fighter, and certainly not the welterweight division which is full of talent.

Agree, however I do believe is not HIM....It's his advisers ....I know Manny is a warrior, he will fight any of this guys on a heart beat......but his team is ****i** his career and legacy if they keep this up.

The reason I make this question is simple: The reality is who needs who? Let's make it clear PFM will get the others (Cotto,SSM,PW) just as much of not even more recognition and money as if they were to fight Manny.So why people are under the impression that the welterweights need Pacquiao? Why do they need to agree on a "catch weight"? if you can fight at WW then fine, stay on Jnr. WW....not a knock on Pacquiao....I like the guy but all this "demands" of where and how they are going to fight, now even asking for the weight in to be the same day OF THE FIGHT,WTF is that? is you can fight them then don't do it, if you think like Freddie Roach that he will beat them....THEN DO IT, but stop making so many stipulations...listen the WW division don't need Manny,but now let's think about this for a minute.....If he doesn't fight this guys,who will he fight? Valero,JMM, who? Will those fights give him the money he will be looking for? OF COURSE NOT! So please let's stop with all this non sense, about Manny calling the shots.....HE IS NOT THE ONLY CASH COW OF THE SPORT.....and this is coming from someone who hates Gayweather but is the truth. now to answer the initial question whether or not he is needed at WW.... i dont think so. the division is way too deep in talent, both in current champs and young guys coming up. I personally dont think he can beat top WW.

2) pac officially weighed 138 lbs against hatton just a few weeks ago. when was the last time cotto/mosley/pbf officially weighed 138 lbs???

3) roach never intended for pac to campaign at WW

4) unless cotto/mosley/pbf agrees to 142, this fight shouldn't even be discussed. Get down to 142 lbs or GTFO and fight mosley

5) Cotto/mosley is a MW on fight night and Pac is a WW on fight night. IS THAT FAIR???

If I was one of the elite WWs in Cotto, Mosley, PBF... why wouldn't I want to fight a smaller, bigger money fight with Pac? With the idea that he only has 2 fights left I'd like to be able to get that piece of the pie. Legacy wise I'm established... in the meantime I gotta pay the bills.

If I was Pac, there are no bigger names than the ones above (and JMM) and they can generate more revenues compare to the ones in 140. It's only MONEY fight now. Legacy wise - I've already beaten the ATG 3K Battery. My status is sealed.

IMO, they all need to fight each other to milk the most money. Catch-weight or not, as a fan, I just want to see them fight.

it's pretty sad when there are plenty of good match up at 147 but all these big guys wanna do is fight a guy that officially weighed 138 lbs in his last fight.

Team Pac got a right to ask for catchweights because at most he is a WW on fight night, but some of these guys are a big as MW on fight night. without leveling the playing field these fights between pac and welterweights are blatant mismatches. so if these "MWs" don't like the catchweight they can walk.

As for who can pac fight? Roach already gave us the hitlist. Floyd, JMM, retire. Pac is not strapped for cash. He's got enough money that his grandkids will be well off in the Phillipines and he's got a promising career in politics. He could walk away from boxing right now and not look back. So stop acting like Pac is still a poor pinoy kid scrappin on the streets. he don't really need to fight any WWs for financial as well as legacy reasons.

Pac can't make the WW division better because he's not a WW and has no intention of campaigning at WW. But if you want a shot at Pac, you gotta play by MANNY'S RULES.
