If you want that to happen then it limits the chances of seeing him fight Cotto or Mosley, something you have made clear you want to see... just think about it mate... a Mayweather win over JMM is most likely better for Boxing.

2nd to stop hoya 2nd to stop hatton,
yup. only other person to stop dlh was hopkins. only other person to stop hatton was floyd.

and jmm just as many championships
jmm only has championships in 3 different weight clases 126, 130, and 135

and tied in championship bout win ratio, except jmm just kod casamayor whod never been stopped, and juan diaz whom had never been stopped either,
those no doubt were good wins, but subject to the same criticisms that pac has against dlh and hatton (ie past prime, beat up by somebody else before).

and is now facing gayweather whom is better than anyone pac has ever faced,
yep, and floyd/jmm is an eliminator to see who gets to fight pac.

pfff, oh and that 106 lb crap a buncha baloney mayweather hoya and hundreds of others started at very light weights 110 107lbsand ended up at middle or higher.
didn't hoya turn pro at 130 lbs?

      other names?

        Back again as P4P #1

If Mayweather beats Marquez convincingly like he should, then he is the #1 P4P fighter in the world, and Pac should acknowledge that.

No whats best for boxing is floyd vs mosley so we can see a 2009 version of leonard vs hagler. but ofcourse seeing great fights happen is prohibited when it comes to floyd. only money makes sense. what a shame.

I have said all along my favorite fight to see would be The Pacman vs Cotto. It has the biggest potential of any other to be exciting and tough for both fighters. I wanna see Pac vs Mayweather but i dont see it happening because of Floyd's and Arum's greed n beef. Make it happen Cotto vs Pac at 145 for October!!!

                DUMB!!!

The only way for Fretty Boring Floyd Gayweather to become the #1 P4P is to beat the top guy and that is PACQUIAO!

I haven't even seen Gayweather go toe-to-toe with any boxer. Just his typical hit and run "not" sweet science thing.......

                    I agree with you Pullcounter.
As a matter of opinion (MY OPINION) i beleive that Arum already has this fight already draft up with some preagreements on both side (Cotto-Pacquio). They are both with Top ranks, If Pacquiao looses he will still have the excuse that he shouldn't fought a welterweight like Cotto and still have the option for big money with Marquez. If Cotto looses it woud probably be the last fight under Arum and if he stays with Arum, Cotto will still have a good payday in a rematch with Margarito in 2010.
Another thing that indicates that they might have a preagreement for the fight with Cotto is why wait until after June 13 (day of Cotto-Clottey) instead of witning for after Marquez-Maywether???

At this moment the only thing that can cancel the Cotto-Pacquiao fight is if Cotto doesn't beat Clottey and obviously Cotto will need to agree to fight at 144 or less.

I don't think money will be a problem with Cotto either.

I Agree that Cotto-Pacquiao would have more action than Mayweather-Pacquiao, and that's the fight i would like to see; however the biggest revenue is in Pacquiao-Mayweather.
