too bad manny got ko'd when he was 18 and 21, and after the second one he moved up two weight divisions and won the the title. and he avenged his morales decision with 2 ko's, he demolished the 2 most notable names on floyds resume, and has also had great fights with marquez and barrera. i dont know who is better until they get in the ring together but manny has had a much more impressive career in terms of excitement, and competition. does the guy ever have a bad fight? floyd does. manny loves to fight, floyd doesnt.

You're missing the point. If he doesn't want to fight Mosley at a weight Mosley can manage without being weight drained, he can just say no to the fight. It's really very simple.

But asking someone to come in weight drained makes a complete farce of a great sport.

This. 100% agree. Weightdraining can KILL YOU. It decreases the water weight in your body and especially your skull area, thus decreasing the padding your body needs to absorb damage. Boxers can and do die in this sport for this very reason. Does a high profile boxer need to excessively weightdrain and die in dramatic fashion to get this point across? Is Somalia or any other weightdrained place on Earth appealing? Ok, now apply that to fighting somebody. See the problem yet?

Pac deserves zero respect if he tries to get big names from other divisions to fight him in a weight drained condition. If hie doesn't think he can be competitive above Jnr Welterweight, he should fight the top Jnr Welterweights. Floyd gets criticised for not fighting the top fighters in his own division, but if Pac refuses to fight the top fighters in his own division, and tries to make fighters from higher divisions come down in weight and fight him in a weight drained condition, you think that's good? At least when Floyd fought De La Hoya he didn't ask DLH to come in weight drained, he fought him at 154.

Roach thinks 140 is now Pac's natural weight. I trust Roach's opinion on that a lot more than the opinion of some anonymous internet poster. If he doesn't think he can cut it at Welterweight, he should not fight Welterweights. And if being weight drained is not an excuse, maybe he should try to get a fight with Vlitali Klitschko at 144. You're being ridiculous. The only possible reason for asking Mosley to shed weight is in the hope of making him weight drained.

The reason for the Mosley interest is simple: He destroyed the supposed "best" and "most feared" at 147 champion there was in Antonio Margacheato.
Beating the best at 147 and retiring makes you the ONLY 7 time weight champion and the ONLY fighter to beat Henry Armstrong's record of starting at such a low weight and capturing so many titles at weights you weren't supposed to win at. If anyone BUT Shane Mosley held the Ring title at 147, then you'd be saying ok fight this guy.

Mosley is not The Ring champion, the title is vacant. He needs to rematch Cotto before there will be a Ring champion.
