See, this is the reason why Mosley just needs to suck it up and answer Paul Williams' call. There's chances that if Mosley can get him down to 147, he'll be able to beat a somewhat dehydrated version of him. But at the same time he would become the Ring champ at 147.

Pacquiao's Adviser Says "Mosley at 144 is Too Much"

Pac needs to say plainly whether he wants to compete at welter (which he should not because he will get his ass kicked bad by a fresh welter badly sooner rather than later).
If he says he doesn't, go fight the winner of Bradley-Campbell or just wait for May and move on from this dumb conversation.

You could validly say that Floyd should fight a Welterweight like Berto for his tune-up, rather than Marquez, but Marquez wouldn't thank you for saying that, because he sees this fight as his big chance. So giving him a shot wasn't a ***** move at all, because the alternative was to give someone else a shot instead, and that would have been very bad news from Marquez's point of view.
And I think Marquez will surprise people and make it more competitive than most people expect. He has the heart of a lion, and is more skilful than anyone Floyd has faced for a long time.
By contrast, Pac-Mosley would be (in theory, anyway) a legacy fight. Trying to force Mosley to come into the fight weight drained is worse than just a ***** move, it makes a complete travesty of boxing. It's nothing short of disgusting. But I hope Mosley and Cotto both stand their ground. If they do, Pac won't have many options, because Mayweather also won't fight him below 144.
I don't blame Pac, so much as his advisers, though.Last edited by Dave Rado; 06-07-2009, 09:28 PM.

Do you understand what ur talking about...?

:gay:Pacquiao solidified his legendary status & greatness after squaring w/ the Fabulous 4 encounters (w/ Barrera 2x, Marquez 2x & Morales 3x), not only 5wins-1loss-1draw record w/ the greats but has done it in exciting fashion...
He made fights at the higher weight levels of great risks to defy odds & not only as #1 P4P today but to prove the world his name is as synonymous to the Pound 4 Pound...
Furthermore, moving in weight to fight bigger champion was already a risky courageous act w/ the Lightweight Champion David Diaz no matter where Diaz stands among the best lightweights in his division...Other fights executed & won in brutal style w/ much much bigger Oscar at 147lbs. & the IBO Light Welterweight Champion Hatton who was considered undefeated champion at 140 lbs. was to solidify his status to where he stands among the all time greats...
If ever Pacquiao retires right now it doesn't change the fact of where he stands among the all time greats...whoever his next fights & no matter what the outcome is, Pacquiao remains an All Time Great...

this is getting absolutely ****in ridiculous! If Manny wants to fight the best of the best at 147, wants to be that guy who can transcend weight classes like some other greats than he needs to stop with the handy cap BS weight restrictions and fight these guys straight up. I can almost understand saying 145 but MHOP is even that is crap and simply taints a win if he can indeed get a W against the likes of Mosley, Cotto or Mayweather. Let me put it like this if he wants to beat Shane Mosley, who is a 147 pound fighter than using behind the scenes leverage to make him squeeze down to a weight that he cannot physically perform equates to not really beating Shane Mosley and is a chicken **** move. If he is a 140 pound fighter than fight the guys who can make 140 and drop all this BS.
