1. dlh proposed the fight at 147 not pac.

2. at 147, pac was still supposed to get killed by dlh. everybody's calling roach a opportunist and doesnt really think that pac would beat dlh. he's doing it for the money, people say. people were pissed that pac was effectively jumping three divisions and dlh was going down one division. it was a freaking mismatch.

3. mosley and cotto are welterweights. pac is NOT a welterweight.

4. facing them, catch weight or not, still takes balls. it by any means does not assure pac a win over those fighters. it however, gives excuses to shane and cotto if pac win.

5. did i mention pac is not a welterweight? he's a blown up lightweight for christ's sake.

Ask yourself why it was a one-shot deal? BECAUSE of the fact Roach knew oscar was weight drained and past his prime and big name, use some common sense man, if it was a RISK and a LEGIT victory then why cant they fight cotto,mosley or pbf at welterweight too? the fact is team pacquiao wanted oscar to come from 154 lbs to a weight he didnt make for 7 years (147) .......AND AGAIN now they want cotto, floyd and mosley to come down to 140, again a weight they havent made for a long time. Each time they are looking to weight drain fighters, why cant it be at weltweight like oscar was, because the oscar fight was legit according to the pacquiao stans. all these fans didnt know how oscar would look in the weigh in, and he looked dead, the fight was over before it started. Roach knew this as he had trained oscar before, and took that advantage too as well as the fact making him move down.

The De La Hoya fight was made on the premise that EVERYONE knew that Oscar was past his prime, yet still thought his size and strength advantage would be enough to take down a much smaller, yet much younger fighter in Pacquiao.

The difference in size and strength would be accounted for by Oscar having to come down in weight.

What's hilarious are the responses before the fight on this very website. People thought that even though Oscar was much older, and had to drop down to a weight he hadn't been at for a while...that he would still dominate the much smaller fighter.

After the fight, in hindsight, people want to blame these factors...which we all knew were present before they ever stepped into the ring !

We KNEW that he was past his prime.

We KNEW that he was going to have to deal with the weight.

I honestly think he gives all 3 guys problems, with Cotto and Shane being the more dangerous punchers. Keep in mind it was Oscar who called for this fight and he agreed to the terms. He made Pacquiao come up 2 weight classes, so you can't blame Pacquiao for Oscar not being prepared. Mosley was fighting at 154 and made a return years later to WW and is still in fine shape. Blame nobody but Oscar.

Pac hen went and fought the consensus #1 140lb fighter and made him look like a tomato can. I doubt and extra couple pounds is going to make it easier to take out Pacquiao who hasn't even be knocked down since his rise from 130lbs.

But hey, if it makes you fell better...Roach and Pac are petrified of Mosley, Cotto, and Floyd.
