De La Hoya fights are always special exceptions to any rule..... I mean if Cotto or Mosley offered Pacquiao DLH money he might be tempted to let them keep the 3-4 lbs.

Fighters try and maximize their advantage or minimize their disadvantages all the time.....

Guess what, the sky is blue and grass is green also.

Pacquiao's fought in 4 different weight classes in less than 18 months, its not as if he's going up to Jr WW and fighting Izzy Vasquez.

He can fight whoever he wants, and people can have their opinions on whether it makes him the best or not. Thats why we have these boards.

I mean you can belittle just about any win any fighter out there has gotten.

              or

To give Cotto, mosley and pbf a disadvantage like they gave oscar a disadvantage (moving from 154 to 147, a weight he didnt make for 7 years) and now planning making cotto, mosley and pbf move from 147 to 140 to make the fight happen.
If you analyze it closely, Manny Pacquiao is actually a natural welterweight. That is, if rules goes back to some years ago, they make the actual weight-in at fight night or within the same day.

Under these conditions Cotto, Mosley and dela Hoya would no be able to blow-up to 160 lbs. And under the former rules, the three you mentioned are actually natural super-welterweights.

So it is actually under the premise that they would not like Pacquiao to be at a disadvantage, other than the number 2 choice. There should have been three choices.

                Roach never said 140... ever.

Wouldnt Pac fighting Cotto/Mosley at 147, be in turn giving Cotto/Mosley an advantage.

Look how much BIGGER they are.

All Roach is trying to do is even the terms, and he said 143.. not 140.

In the lead up to Pacquiao's fight with Oscar I thought Manny was gonna get his head taken off. I really did. Now a part of me feels a little sorry for De La Hoya, even though I don't really care for the guy as a boxer. But Roach has forced people to dismiss that victory from the way he talked. Saying things like Oscar can't pull the trigger anymore, and we are gonna penalize him each pound he's overweight.

Pacquiao was supposed to be destroyed by De La Hoya and Hatton before the fights according to some. Yet after the fight, Pacquiao was just cherry picking. Funny shiet. LOL
