while at 154 mosley beat de la hoya, winky beat mosley.Comment

Mosley has admitted that he was roiding before their fight. Plus, DLH was robbed in that fight.Comment

While De La Hoya was not rated #1 at 154, I think it is obvious that the De La Hoya in the Mayweather fight would have beaten any other 154 lber at that time. And yes my friend, Judah and Baldomir were the best at 147 at that time, it's just it was a very down division at the time since zab lost to a journeyman who was now the undisputed champ, so floyd had to beat both. Margarito was an unknown champion with a loss Santos before. Marg is a cheater anyway, he doesn't matter.
Floyd's about his business and fighting the "Real" tops at either division wouldn't be as rewarding as say a fight with...Ricky Hatton maybe?Comment

I actually think Vernon Forrest and Shane Mosley would've given De La Hoya hell in 2007 as far as 154lb guys go. Floyd saw the dollar signs and knew Oscar on his resume was a good look either way.

And yes Corrales was a very good win for Floyd. We have these early weigh ins for a reason, and some fighters try and take advantage of the rule to come in a lot heavier. But most of the adv that they gain is canceled out by the decrease in strength, stamina etc that they lose by weight draining themselves. See Williams in the first Quintana fight.Last edited by Jim Jeffries; 05-30-2009, 01:54 PM.Comment

That was a great win for Floyd but your thread is slightly mis-leading. If anyone was weight disadvantaged, it was Corrales. It was widely publicised in the build up that he had to kill himself to make 130. He'd given up his super featherweight title to move up to 135 but Floyd wanted it at 130.Comment
