Dawson can't be compared to Calzaghe....just yet

Ah, I see. You seemed to imply before he wouldn't have needed to fight Brewer if Hopkins hadn't pulled out--as if the two were related which they are not. He didn't need to fight Brewer period, since the guy had gotten absolutely smoked the last time he stepped up.Comment

Again mis-leading. As Brewer knocked Echols down three times in the 2nd round and was questionable stopped in the 3rd. Some "absolute smoking". What were you smoking when you watched it? (If you ever did).Last edited by Dirk Diggler UK; 05-29-2009, 09:43 AM.Comment

Yeah but dont you get it?
Hopkins asking for more money to fight calzaghe, then calling him out when he was 43 years old and fighting him= ducking
Calzaghe pulling out of 2 fights with glen johnson, then not fighting him whilst other greats such as Bika and Manfredo = not ducking.

I watched it live, thanks. And the stoppage was absolutely controversial...except of course you fail to mention that Echols was (surprisingly) beating his ass worse. This was a huge, HUGE surprise and signalled (for those who didn't already know) that Brewer was no longer a top fighter at 168.
Again, you implied that Calzaghe fought Brewer because Hopkins pulled out of negotiations. Absolutely false.Comment

Yeah but he actually fought bika?
what happened when he pulled of two fights with johnson?
Did he fight him?
Or did he ignore it and stay at 168 to fight the 'greats' in that divisionComment

The double standard is humorous yes but this is NSB. What else is new. Alas, the 26yr old Dawson is well ahead of schedule, although for some reason certain people seem to hate that.Yeah but dont you get it?

Sure you did. A controversial 3rd round stoppage = got absolutely smoked/ beat his ass. When Echols was more liable to be stopped in the 2nd round. And refused the rematch.I watched it live, thanks. Actually I stated Calzaghe wouldnt have to fight Brewer (or whoever he was fighting at the time) if Hopkins hadnt backed out of the fight. Absolutely true.......unlike most of what you say lol.
Btw Im getting a De ja vous lolComment
