Calzaghe would win if they both fought by UD. He's stratigically superior to Dawson. I think Dawson will go far, although he needs to become more of a draw otherwise the really big fights will elude him, and he may never fulfil his potential.
Dawson can't be compared to Calzaghe....just yet

Now tell me, what Strategy can he use to beat dawson?
He's up against a young fighter with outstandning footwork and one of the of the best combinations in boxing and fighter who is extremley quick.
This is the point, if he fought dawson, he might not able to get away with the windmill punching, plus he is open for lead punches.
When has he ever fought a quick fighter, who throws all sorts of combinations, from all angles, with outstanding speed and footworK?
That's why people give dawson a good chance.Comment

calzaghe cleaned up the SMW division then at the end of his career stepped up in weight to beat 2 ATGS and gets critisized for it,whereas dawson is doing that and giving both the old guys rematches hahaha, hes a young fresh champion but he did get a gift decision in the first jonson fightComment

Your a moron of the highest calibre.
Dawson is one of the most skilled fighters in the entire sport, even Mayweather Jr will tell you that ****, so where the f.uck you got that from I dont know.
Dawson actually punches by the way, not slaps.
They both very talented, but calzaghe is no means far more advanced.
dawson looked rubbish vs Johnson and the second Tarver fight. He has zero power and punches wide.
calzaghe feints him to death.
mismatch.Comment

Hold on, no one is saying Chad Dawson is an all time great. But he has some good wins, Calzaghe wouldnt even get in the ring with glen johnson, cos his back hurt, then his hands hurt. Roy Jones wasnt even remotley close to his prime when calzaghe fought him.calzaghe cleaned up the SMW division then at the end of his career stepped up in weight to beat 2 ATGS and gets critisized for it,whereas dawson is doing that and giving both the old guys rematches hahaha, hes a young fresh champion but he did get a gift decision in the first jonson fight
Ps. He cleaned up one of the ****test divisons in recent boxing and out of 46 fights, the two biggest names on his record were 40 year olds, the other hadnt fought anyone other than a shot markus beyer, and a large number of those wins were against a bunch of homeless bums fighting for a bag of chips.Comment

What happened when calzaghe was due to fight johnson?
Oh yeah.
His back hurt, so he pulled out
Then the fight was on
Then his hand hurt, so he pulled out.
Then he fought someone else.Comment

An overrated nobody...Ducked Edison Miranda.
Couldn't even stop Anthony Mundane...Sven Ottke Ko'd that bum with ONE shot.
Couldn't even stop the dreaded DINGAAN THOBELA..a SHOT to hell LIGHTWEIGHT.
If a 168lb fighter can't stop a guy that fought MOST of his career at 135 SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THAT MOFO.Comment

I agree that Johnson won their first fight. The rematch should have done after that fight. With Glen getting old, I bet Dawson will own this match. Chad is still young so there is still a chance that he will fight ATG boxers. He could fight Kelly Pavlik, Carl Froch, Adrian Dioconu, or even Paul Williams.
Joe Calzaghe's Big Win:
- Roy Jones (Past Prime)
- Bernard Hopkins (Past Prime (Gifted Decision))
- Mikkel Kessler (Skilled but unproven)
- Jeff Lacy (Overrated BUm)
- Chris Eubank (Another Past Prime)
Chad Dawson's Big win:
- Tomasz Adamek (Skilled)
- Antonio Tarver (Past Prime (beaten twice))
- Glen Johnson (Past Prime (Gifted Decision))
dawsonn had rematch, joe doesnt have any.Comment
