oh, so calzaghe doesn't like fighters who lose?

    except...
he fought Manfredo after his 2 losses to Mora just a year before their fight.

He fought Ashira a year after he got his ass ko'd by Masoe?

He fought Salem right after his loss to Veit.

He fought Mitchell right after his loss to Ottke.

He fought Brewer less than a year after he got ko'd by Echols.

so, I'll be awaiting your new nut-hugging excuse to this.

Actually, lets see if he can talk proper boxing.

I wanna know exactly why these people think calzaghe can beat dawson easy or why dawson isnt all that.

Dawson is only 26 years old. So he's fighting Tarver and Johnson right now. Thats the equivalent of Calzaghe fighting Eubank. Calzaghe didn't catch any flak when he faced Chris. Only after he made his 20 or so title defenses against bums did he really get criticized.

The point is, Dawson is still relatively at the beginning stages of his career. Sure Tarver and Johnson are past their primes, but Dawson himself hasn't reached his prime and his career still has a long ways to go. Its not like Dawson is retiring after his next fight. He still has a long way to go and a lot more to accomplish before he retires.

If you do want to compare the 2 fighters however, you have to compare them when they were at the same point in their careers. And thus far Dawson is EASILY ahead of Calzaghe as far as accomplishments at the same age(26). Adamek + Johnson + Tarver(2) > Eubank.

So for all the irrational and illogical idiots comparing these 2 fighters, you need some perceptive and need to realize that by comparing Calzaghe's whole career to Dawson's young career, you are effectively pwning yourselves and unwittingly insulting your favorite fighter.
wow much respect man, most people wouldn't talk that about a fighter they like. coming from u we know it's no hate. i would say the same things and be called an hater of course but yeah. and yeah dawson still has allot to evolve.

You know what, If there is one fighter at 168-175 who can nulify calzaghe's workrate, it might be dawson.

Calzaghe is very open down the middle and dawson has tremendous footwork. He has the speed to catch calzaghe coming in and move off.

The last two guy he fought, Johnson and Tarver both have tight guards upstairs, calzaghe doesnt have that, he's gonna come onto dawson with low hands, dawson's combinations have a good chance of hitting the target.

Calzaghe would need to lunge(even more so than usual) in to get any punches on Dawson's long jap. And Dawson might not have killer power but neither does hopkins and hops was able to kd calzaghe. I could see Dawson countering Calzaghe all night. Dawson was careful of Tarver's power but he won't be of Calzaghe's so he'll counter Calzaghe without hesitation. Calzaghe would get ko'd for sure.

if manfredo can avoid calzaghe's punches...

imagine what Dawson would do. but instead of covering up, Dawson would throw back a counter punching combination that Calzaghe has never seen before. ko 3 for Dawson.
