He has basically nobody left to fight at 160 but abraham so they can go ahead & unify. He has no business fighting anybody at 160 but abraham. why fight a fledgling 154 pounder who can make u look bad win or lose?

If your not gonna fight abraham at 160 & unify then its time to move up.

Pavlik vs Abraham is a 50/50 fight.

It was obvious from his performance in the second Taylor fight that he didn't belong anywhere north of 160, especially against a guy like Hopkins.

      170 isn't why he lost.

Anybody that's upset with Bob Arum gets points in my book, but I still don't get why they wanted to fight Sergio Mora. A lot of times when a fighter is set up to tangle with a ****ty opponent like that it's the promoter trying to protect his interests in fear of his man losing. What does Pavlik think he is going to gain if he beats Mora? Can't he find a better opponent than that? Abraham and Williams are ready and willing and there's no excuse. Pavlik won me over as a believer and a fan the night he came off the ground to knock Jermaine Taylor out and I enjoyed watching his fights with McKart, Pierre, Zertuche, and Miranda. But that is the past and this is now. My patience with his matchmaking is wearing thin.

I'm definitely not saying that's why he lost. Hopkins has way too many dimensions to his game for a guy like Pavlik. However, he shouldn't have been in the ring with him at that weight. Period. It looked like man against boy before a punch was even thrown. At 160 Kelly was/may still be a beast. In the two fights I have seen him above that, not so much.
If I could see that, somebody in his group should have figured that out. Very poor management in my opinion.

yeah and he should also hire ****m richardson to train him. like hopkins told him after they fought, kelly needs to learn some slickness. he doesn't have to part with lowe, but he needs another point of view, another angle, needs to learn some new stuff.

This is a screwed up sport with too much power put in the hands of TV stations and promoters. Period. You are at their beck and call. This is why guys like David Haye have to take pix of decapitated heads to get fights. And it worked. Tell your kids to go to college.
