That's true, but NO ONE looks good against Hopkins, even if they get a victory over him. Personally I think Jack Loew let the hype get to his head and the sudden fame/success had its way with making him overconfident and arrogant.

He was blinded by dollar signs and Hop's previous performance. In Lacy's case he didnt know Joe was as good as he was and thought he was going over there to knock Joe out.

pavlik should be thankful that they cancelled the show. its a no win situation for him. beating mora a 154 pounder doesnt do anything for u boxing legacy wise & he's a difficult out due to his style which would trouble your one dimensional boxing ass.

Can u imagine if Pavlik got outpointed by sergio mora?

Why not go for carl froch, kessler, heck even miranda has a bigger name than mora.

Only fighter he should be discussing at 160 is abraham.

Bro, if plan c was straight right and plan d was left hook, plan d was abandoned by round 3 and plan c abandoned by round 6. Luckily plan e, get blasted in the face worked all fight.

Ok I take it back, Loew had 5 gameplans.

Agreed, Loew was believing his own hype, but I don't think he has trained enough versatile fighters or against enough different styles.

                - why Sergio Mora?
                - why not Abraham?
                - why not Sturm, Wright or Williams?

Kelly had to fight the mandatories Rubio and Lockett to keep his titles, but there's absolutely no good reason to fight Mora.
I agree, Arum needs to step it up with his fighters.

How do you know? I seem to remember reports that Pavlik was sort of resigned to fighting Hopkins because he was told it was the only big fight out there for him. He should still be pissed at Top Rank for that. He had no business being in there with Hopkins at 170. What the f**ck is wrong with just being the middleweight champ and cleaning out the division. It was obvious from his performance in the second Taylor fight that he didn't belong anywhere north of 160, especially against a guy like Hopkins.
