I think the headbutt caused him getting hurt later on, but indirectly.

I think the butt caused Mosley to lose concentration/focus which then left him open to get clocked so cleanly and he possibly never saw it coming. He got unwound from that butt. You could see the desperation in him.

Yeah I always thought he looked angered and panicked when they resumed fighting after the butt. He was probably pissed off and just seemed unwound to me.
