Why was Berto's opponent Urango chosen from a smaller weight division?

Berto's people know that he's still not ready. Whether he will be in the long run is up for debate. He needed to be tested against a good puncher anyway and Urango is that.

Why was he picked as Berto's opponent? There are plenty of good fighters at 147 to choose from. Does having an opponent from a smaller weight division give Berto an unfair advantage?

Was Urango hand-picked to make Berto look good on TV? If so, I really hope their plan backfires, and Urango knocks him out!

Will Urango need to give up his IBF belt at 140 for this fight? I've read rumors about that. Seems kind of unfair to me...
Urango was defintely picked to make berto look good on hbo. Hopefully urango gives berto a loss or makes berto look bad for picking on a smaller guy.

collazo should of definately got the rematch.
i still believe collazo is #1 so maybe berto is fighting a southpaw to help him with a rematch with collazo.

If SSM wasn't gonna face Berto and Mr boat buyer wasn't gonna use Berto for his tuneup, Berto shoulda rematched Collazo. Dude deserves anotha shot at Berto and the fight was ill.

Paul Williams can't find an opponent because Berto, Mayweather and others are afraid of him.

But yes, Berto should be fighting Mosley, Collazo or Williams.

Listen, Berto career is run by Al Haymon. Cotto and Clottey are both Arum fighters and Bob refuses to do business with Haymon (I am sure they have a mutual dislike, but Bob is the only one in the media). So anyone in Arum's camp is not an option for Berto at this point really (not enough cold cash in it to make Arum and Haymon put aside the differences they have). I guess Mosley wants to sit and wait on things I guess and pick the biggest money fight. Now Floyd and Paul Williams are also both Haymon fighters, but unlike Arum he never likes to put his guy in the same ring (there are merits to both ideals).

I am pretty sure Berto wanted to fight Collazo but there was not enough money from HBO to make the fight so they made this fight, which should be fairly entertaining.

Quintana. That would have been a really, really good test. I would actually favor Quintana over Berto.
