Floyd is sorta similar. He put in his work at the lighter weights and hes a top dog now, a shot caller, he fights who he wants regardless of weight. And who he fights gotta bring in cash. He doesnt need catchweights as much as Pac cuz he's a bigger dude so its nothing for him to starch dudes at a full 147. But Pac is so boss dog now that not only does he pick who he fights he even puts the weight to his advantage and people still drain themselves.

Bradley, Holt, Guzman are not stars and bring nothing to the table financially to Pac so they are high risk low reward fights like P.Will and Clottey are for mayweather.

PS: It shouldnt be this away and im not endorsing it, its just the way it is.

PS again: Floyd cleaned out the 130 pound division, he called out Hamed multiple times to no avail

That exactly how it works, Mayweather called out Naz back in those days but he was a nobody back then.

hamed was a 126 fighter. nothing to do with cleaning up 130.
Point taken about Hamed being a 126 pounder but unifying belts means nothing back then because the sanctions had problems and would strip fighters for unifying.

Also Floyd cleaned out 130, he beat the top ranked guys at the time to earn his contender spot then beat the top guy for the belt, then defended the title 8 times against top ranked opponents like Jesus Chavez, Angel Manfredy, Carlos Hernandez, I mean wat more do you want. He ran 130, look at the 130 title holders who held it during floyds time in other sanctions, the WBA had champs who only fought oversees, the WBO champ was some guy called Antonolay Alexandrov, and the IBF champ at the time Roberto Garcia defended his belt twice and got knocked out by Diego Corrales who Floyd steam rolled. You can say he didnt clean out 130 but in my opinion he beat everyone who mattered

I think what Larry is trying to say and what so many of you are missing, is if Pacquiao wants the big money fights rather than cleaning out 140 or dropping back down to 135, then he should be willing to move up to 147 again. It just shows that Pac needs Cotto, Mosely and Mayweather just as much, if not more, than they need him. If those guys refuse to budge from WW, then where does Manny go? IMO if he wants those fights he should move up.

freitas and casamayor would have been good names to have at 130.

Pac oughta just stick to 140. Good fights there, just not big $ fights.

                    floyd didn't move to 135 'til 2002.

freitas won the wbo 130 title in 1999.

casamayor won the wba 130 title in 1999.

that's a year after floyd won his belt at 130.

joel and acelino was 3 and 4 right behind diego and floyd since then.

they were 2 and 3 behind floyd after diego fell in the rankings.

simple answer to this question. manny has higher risk higher reward fights. can't complain with that.
