Cotto fights the best so what if he decides to fight manny at 144 the guy isnt ducking anyone in order to fight pac. By the way a man that fights in a ring is not a *****

Id love to see Floyd fight Cotto and Mosley but its not reality if you think hed put a Pac fight on ice.

Thats what I dont get about alot of posters on here. Everyone demands fighters do what they want them to do and then call them names without any regard for what actually goes into making a big fight. Money generally being top priority.

i respect mayweather as a great fighter but facts are facts he has not fought the true top dogs at welter. your entitled to your opinion but i disagree. put hatton judah or baldo against any top 5 welter and they get spanked.

That is not really valid. Also Floyd moved up to 154 and beat Oscar when Oscar wasnt the walking dead.

A smart business move. Cotto Pac is the second biggest financial fight Cotto can make besides Mayweather Cotto. Cotto in my preference if he beats Cotto should rematch Shane Mosley and the winner of that fight should face the Pac Mayweather winner.

take those same top 5 welters and see if any of them can go to 154 and get a belt beating the #1 guy at 154...floyds resume isnt bad its very good..people just listen to other haters and hate

lets take cotto-a very good fighter..but he has yet to beat a champ for a belt
margo-went to 154 and got beat back down to 147..the biggest name on his resume is cotto
                    clottey-unproven and a vacant belt holder..biggest win-judah
mosley-the best of the pack-him and floyd have been calling each other out for years

so who are these top ww's???

No, Cotto isnt a ***** if this fight happens at 144. The situation is not the same as Mayweather-Marquez because Pacquiao is proven at 140+ and if both parties agree to a catch weight of 144, what's the big deal? By signing the contract, Cotto says "I can make 144". If he fails to be effective at this weight, that's on him, just as it was on Oscar and his "professional" team of nutrition specialists and trainers to prove he could make 147.

Now, the situation with Mayweather and JMM is different because Juan is not only unproven at 140+, but also looks quite small and occasionaly kinda uncomfortable as a lightweight. Marquez was being pushed around by Juan Diaz. But here's what we have to take into account -- Marquez was probably moving to 140 anyway. The reason why is because he is chasing Pacquiao. Personally, I feel 140 won't be his ideal weight class. Mayweather knows this, too. I guarantee it.

So, IMO, 144 is pushing it, but hey, Juan wanted the fight. He obviously believes in himself, and at the very least, he's in for a pretty decent payday. Personally, I would have wanted a fight or two at 140 before stepping up to 144 and taking on Mayweather.
