Shane Mosley Tells Mayweather Jr. To Stop Running

A potential fight that many boxing experts say has been brewing since the 90's, when Floyd Mayweather Jr. was a super featherweight and Shane Mosley was a lightweight. Back then, an up and coming Mayweather tried to get himself a fight with Mosley, who would instead move up by two weight divisions and make his mark in the sport by winning a decision over a prime Oscar De La Hoya in a welterweight classic. For reals, mosley/floyd has to happen.
Mosley is starting to trash talk because floyd was trashing mosley all over the media. I hope this fight happens and if it don't I'll be dissappointed.

Floyd said the same thing about Mosley for the moment.
Atleast Floyd's and his people said that a Mosley fight is
possible down the line. Mosley hasn't said that about
Williams or Berto so what does that make him?

Mosley is not young, Mosley is soon out the door, why would Floyd wait longer to fight him? its gonna be an easy win for Floyd then, thats what he's waitin on? thats not a real champ. Williams and Berto are too young for Mosley, they are not even in their primes, they are in the upscale, they can accomplish even bigger and better fights, why would Mosley go against that? the last would be someone like Mayweather, or of course another Cotto fight, but even if that fight happens again wit Cotto i believe that it wouldnt be a good fight for Mosley due to his time AND layoff.

no doubt Fraud jr is talented. Nobody is denying him that. Even I have never said fraud jr cant fight or he sucks or he doesnt have talent.

My whole point is being talented & being undefeated is not a true barometer for greatness. It has to be proven, validated, over & over again vs other great fighters. Anybody can be undefeated & look otherworldly vs the right opposition.

See, this is EXACTLY what I mean. The majority of this thread is
bashing Floyd for not fighting Mosley but when he does fight Mosley
then Mosley will be too old? Come on guys, stop it. Look at what
Mosley said in an interview:

Mosley also a beat down a man that Mayweather had no intentions of ever getting in the ring with. I'd say Mosley earned it, emphatically. Fighting Gatti,Bruseles,Baldormir and Mitchell isn't a legacy, it's cardio.

I'm not impressed by Floyd's riches at all and that's why I don't
hate him for what he does because to me it is not personal.
I think he is a very talented fighter that can potentially beat
every fighter if he brings his A game to the ring and I think
we all know that. I understand that everyone wants to see
him fight the best at 147 and I do to and he's back to cover
all bases from what I can see because I think he is reading
the chat boards and hearing the bad talk about him because
he brought up some points in the ESPN interview that people
keep saying. I don't agree with you that people will forget
him because when he was retired NO ONE could stop talking
about and everytime a article was posted about Floyd the thread
went off. I am curious to see if Mosley/Cotto has what it takes
to handle Floyd. Frankly I feel like they will bring a Mayweather
out that no one has seen yet so yes I do what to see him fight
the best. My point of view of him is from a talent and ability
stand point and for the record I don't agree with people putting
the blame on Floyd for fights like Mosley and Cotto not happening
because last I checked and it is documented in Boxing history
that he wanted Cotto and Mosley and both opted no to fight him
so how is Floyd perceive as a Fraud or a ducker for not fighting
them now when he wanted them before?

Great post--Sugar Ray still gets work to this day as a tv personality, where as the only work Mayweather will get, is as host of 106th and park. He is the furthest thing from having main street marketability. Floyd has only been "retired" for a little over a year a half, quite different; so of course people mention his name as most saw his "retirement", as merely a prolonged vacation.

I agree that Floyd could win those fights you mentioned based on his talent, but as they say, you gotta fight the fights to cement those claims. He must show a willingness to search out the biggest challenges. One minute Floyd is saying that he is the biggest PPV draw right? Now follow the logic....when asked about fighting Shane he mentions Shane not being a PPV draw, but here is where his logic(excuse) falls apart, if Floyd considers himself a PPV draw, then the money will be there regardless right? I mean he is household name right? He does commercials, has a record label. So people will pay to see him fight, if he such a big draw as he claims to be right?

In other words, fight the man! No more excuses, just fight the fights! If he is such a celebrity as he and his nuthuggers proclaim, then he can make more money outside of boxing right? Again, the money will be there;no more excuses! Sugar Ray Leonard came out of retirement to fight Hagler, he sought a challenge, regardless of whether or not you think he won or lost. If Floyd is supposedly as good as he claims, then why choose Marquez?
