There has to be a limit somewhere. Sure, Adamek could get more cash from a 20% share of a B-Hop fight than he will with 80% from this, but if you approach negotiations solely from that point of view it's a license to get pissed on by any worthwhile opponent's agent. Adamek is worth more than that. You have to hold out for something remotely reasonable, even if short of what you think you are worth unless there is a particularly good reason to do otherwise, the only example I can currently think of being a true 'career defining' fight (which this isn't, although it would obviously be a great win). Haye v. Wlad is a good example.

he's taking less money to fight someone else. how is that not his fault? basically he's scared of losing. if he doesn't wanna fight any decent opponents he should turn in his belt and retire like calzaghe did.

you dont seem to understand. is adamek making 500k to fight tommy gunn? hell no he's not. he's fighting for a bag of circus peanuts. if adamek didnt accept 500k to fight hopkins why did he accept much much less to fight tommy gunn? guess that is one pathetic offer he accepted.

tommy gunn is a shot fighter anyway i mean he had a good win over union cane but an old rocky balboa ko'd him in brutal fashion.

Adamek is the exciting undisputed cruiserweight champ, he deserves a much bigger payday.

500k was probably the initial offer, Ive read Schaffer say it was 1mil, so it probably ended at 1mil and when Adamek turned it down they stopped negotiating.

Depends on how you look at it. IMO, it's an investment, i.e he would have made even more money in the future if he would have fought hopkins for a smaller percentage, beat him and been in the position to demand for a higher split.
