It's not a question of can the shoulder roll be beat. The better question to ask is, can PAC finally and clearly beat a counter-puncher?

That's a good point considering the last counter-puncher Pacman faced in JMM he struggled with (in both fights). Though, I think Floyd from his part will need to do alot more then using the shoulder role and just pop shotting from the outside against Pacman. If you notice, Floyd basically uses the shoulder role when his back is against the ropes. I doubt he'll allow Manny the oppurtunity.

The shoulder roll is not something that you prepare for because the user will not beat you with a shoulder roll. Roach has to make the perfect gameplan to beat Floyd's defensive-first style, or at least try to beat Floyd's defensive-first style. Floyd and other Shoulder roll users use it when inside, it's an inside fighting move. Shoulder roll is to suck your opponent in far enough inside that you can tag him with an uppercut or short right hand. Which i just don't see Manny falling for it, i see Manny staying in the outside trying to fight a smart fight, flurrying when he can. Pacquiaos straight left hand will be badly neutralized by Floyd's defense(look at Pacquiao-Marquez 1 how Marquez stayed away from Pacquiao's left after getting tagged by it a lot). If Pacquiao is planning on taking the fight to floyd and winning the fight on aggressiveness, he is going to have be extremely aggresivve and relentless to get Floyd out of his defense. Just my honest opinion.
