Floyd was probably just as jealous of de la hoya as vargas was, the difference is that it was for professional reasons rather than personal. You are right when you say that floyd moved up only to look attractive to de la hoya, if de la hoya was gone by say, 2003, floyd would have likely stayed at 135/140 to this day.

He cant fight everyone so its one step at a time , he is fighting the top dogs , your top dog is somebody elses not top dog , you cant please everybody so there will always be whingers ,,,, this fight is about fighting the biggest name fighter in the sport right now Pac ,,, lets see what he does after that , for now its all roads to Pac and I can live with that its a great matchup , better than any others out there . JMM has many that say he beat Pac , its not hard to see the politics of why Floyd is fighting JMM ,,,, its a good fight and JMM is no push over for anybody ask Pac Casa and Diaz , everyone of them was over 144 pound fighting JMM .

See! This is why you guys are chasing your asses aarguing with posters like this. No matter what, when hit with facts that debunks their theories they counter with BS! He is a 19yr/old conservative! He disregards the facts to fit his agenda. Agenda = Hate and tear down PBF! Lol!

When it comes to the PBF debate, forget it!

Thanks for pointing out the obvious . Ofcourse he can't fight them all on one night, but if he's willing to face the consensus top guys (pac/cotto/mosley) nobody can fault him for it. JMM is a different story, we already disagree on the validity of this fight so there's no point in going into that. We're on different sides of the fence and that's a different thread.

I never said either ducked either or anything but where was Shane Mosley at this point? Wasnt he just off the back of getting embarrassed twice by Winky?

Now they're both at welterweight, Shane has proven hes the top guy there, so the fight actually means a lot more now.

You might disagree on the validly off JMM even though your numbers dont add up and you offer no facts just opinion on the merits of both , but its painfully obvious WHY Floyd is fighting him ,,, and that is why the fight is valid as a return bout after 2 yrs off , Ive always said politics is as much ingrained into boxing as the fights are and this fight is about the negotiation table for Floyd vs Pac ,,, Floyd comes out and beats Mosley or Cotto he wont get a Pac fight as Roach will side step him , this is a very smart fight to take for Floyd .

In the post fight interview to Winky Wright-Shane Mosley II, Mosley expressed interest in going back to 147. That's what Floyd was referring to, he was willing to go up to 147 to fight Mosley. He wouldn't have said that If Shane wouldn't have said he's going back to Welterweight. Who did Mosley fight when he came back to Welterweight after the second close Winky loss? David Estrada and Jose Luis Cruz, then he went back up to 154 and fought Vargas twice(when Vargas had already been embarrassed and TKO'd by Trinidad and De La Hoya). While all that was happening, Floyd wanted Mosley, Mosley was taking easy fights.

Like i said before, these two are my All-Time faves but i have to seperate fact from fiction.

its all politics for some reason the fight never got made and as we boxers know theres alot of **** going on behind scene so even if he called mosley, dhl,or kosta it doesnt mean he rejected an offer or the other way around those are the news the inner boxing circle dnt talk bout nevertheless the man made a call out so mosley an them look like suckes although mosley called out floyd the other day!

You're talking like i'm the only one who has a problem with his fight, when theres actually a lot.

I highlited that last part because you could poll that. I disagree. If anything he beats cotto or mosley and there's an even bigger cry for these 2 to fight. How do my numbers not add up? Look at the odds for this fight they speak for themselves. This is a tune up fight. Former lb 4 lb fighting a guy 2 weight classes below him is a tune up. Look beyond the name marquez and look at his style, age, speed. you tell me this fight is going to be competetive? I dont care what reasoning floyd has for fighting this fight, the fact is the criticism he is getting is warranted.

As far as this fight being competetive i'll bet you all my points that floyd either stops him or win a ud with no scorecard being closer than 8-4.

Great post. The only thing about Floyd is that he's so **** at answering critics when they attack him. I think his mind goes blank.

When Brian Kenny asked him why he didnt fight Mosley he should have said straight that Mosley ducked him for years. But Floyd ends up ****ing things up.
