What Did You Guys Think Of Rigondeaux's Pro Debut?

    I was a little disappointed.

I've heard a lot about him and his amateur pedigree, but he didn't exactly have me jumping out of my seat last night.

He was being way too cute.

    Too much posing and posturing.

He kept pawing with his jab and stopping in the middle of punches.

He could've blown Noriega out of the water if he just let his hands go.

I think he is going to be one of the smartest most tactical fighters of all time. Hes going to be a bernard hopkins type fighter.

It was not a good fight to showcase his skills. He was in with an overmatched guy, and Rigondeux is not the type of fighter to just jump on a guy, he is poised and patient to the hilt.

He is not an all action fighter though, he is a defensive counter puncher so against guys that actually throw punches I think he will look much better then he did tonight.

That said there are 2 things I saw that I would like to see from him, I would like to see a lot more snap on his jab and not the bull**** pawing jab he was using. I would also like to see him keep his punches short and sweet he seemed to be winging in power shots, they were fast but they were not short and sweet.

not impressed with his debut. He should of had that guy out of there in 30 seconds clowning around or not. I really question his power. He didnt really knock the guy out and he was hitting him with some bombs.

              He's definitely more of a counter-puncher.

His opponent was too scared to throw any punches though, so he didn't really have an opportunity to counter.

Rigondeaux should have destroyed that guy anyway.

He just didn't put any punches together.

I think he is going to be a very good fighter, not an exciting fighter in a lot of his fight, but that will not stop him from having a lot of success.

126 pounders with real 1 punch power are kind of rare, so that does not really bother me, but I think he is going to get a decent ammount of stoppages because of his counter punching.

I was blown away by his performance. I actually see him more as a Mayweather Jr. style fighter than Hopkins. I know officially Noriega landed two punches, but I didn't see them. I think he will be a champion soon and for quite some time.

That pawing jab as you call it is a tactical tool. Hes not throwing it as a punch, hes putting it out there to see how his opponent reacts to it, and to desensitize them to it.

As Evandery Holyfield said about Pernell Whitaker. If you flinch, he wont punch, but as soon as you don't flinch he will.

Rigondeaux showed some truly incredible tactical thinking, albeit against extremely limited opposition.
