Anyway, I agree that the lack of network interest is headscratching. I think I can provide at least a possibility though. There is a HUGE gap between ESPN2's and Versus' budget with Showtime's and HBO's. There is a sizeable gap between Showtime's and HBO's too. There are many fights every year that are too small for Showtime or HBO and too expensive for ESPN or Versus because that financial gap exists. Shobox fills that gap as it is on its own midrange budget, but if it passes there aren't really any suitors. Frankly Adamek/Godfrey isn't big enough for an HBO or Showtime main event and ESPN or Versus might not want to devote that big of a chunk of their budget.

I agree that Shobox is making a mistake though.

Adamek is actually becoming a victim of his on site drawing power in my opinion. He draws money so he is naturally the main event. However, the fight is a perfectly suitable TV undercard for a Showtime main event. If he wasn't such a big draw, he'd be able to get the secondary slot and become far more well known.

Not true.

I've never liked John Duddy, and he's white and supposed to be good looking. I judge boxers by how they fight, not by how they look. You, on the other hand, really do prejudge on a basis of race - it's always very obvious you don't like white boxers!

that's too bad i really like adamek a lot, his style makes for good entertaining fights... i hope to see him on tv soon again... hopefully someone will have his fight on stream in the meantime

people act like we haven't seen a lot of Adamek on TV. From Showtime airing his fights light-heavyweight fights with Briggs and with Dawson. To Cunningham and Banks at Cruiserweight. The man is a notable commodity to Television execs. He has always excited and entertained in victory or his one defeat. Its not really the fight, but a Thursday I believe. Also, Showtime might not have been able to secure a sponsor. Not sure, they dropped the ball on this. That onlys screws us over. Adamek/Godfrey would've been a great fight. Man, I wish Versus could pick this up too. I understand getting other fights like Dawson/Tarver, but for pure entertainment value, show the cruiserweight champion of the world. Tomasz Adamek is a bad mofo who anyone can enjoy watching.

Adamek is exciting to watch if there are no US TV networks why cant he fight in Poland or Germany instead? Or maybe he should unify against Fragomeni while he waits for the Cunningham Braithwaite fight to happen.
