There was a ruling some months ago by the IBF that a fighter must be coming off a win to fight for one of their world titles, so Cunningham has to win a fight before he can fight again for the title.

    It's a fairly good rule I think.

Rematches should be an exception, especially this fight since it was FOY candidate and a SD. The IBF doesn't need to sanction it the Ring Belt could be at stake since Adamek will defend it for 2nd time this year in July.

Hopkins should either fight Dawson this year or retire.

Hopkins vs. Adamek wouldn't be a good matchup. Adamek would gain nothing if he beat him, and his career would be ruined if he lost to a 45 year old.

Back in February, the IBF said they would sanction a fight between Cunningham and Braithwaite (easy win for Steve) as an IBF final eliminator, and Adamek would have to fight the winner. But for some reason Cunningham-Braithwaite hasn't been scheduled yet.

How is beating the no. 1 ranked fighter at your own weight, who is regarded by most as the unofficial champion at the weight, and who is in his prime, a waste of anyone's time? That's a ridiculous statement.

It may sound a little over the top but what I mean by a waste of time is the fact that HBO has made a bad investment in Chad Dawson money wise. On top of that he doesn't go out of his way to put a stamp on his victories and it all adds up to Hopkins getting peanuts and little credit for beating him. Dawson needs to rematch Johnson and beat him convincingly this time which I'm skeptical of. And didn't you hear me say earlier in my post that it's that Hopkins-Dawson is the right fight for weight division lineage? I'm gonna leave it at that.

44, 45 what's the difference? I say he's good til 50. His style is perfect - he glides around the ring with perfect balance in either direction which allows him to rely entirely on timing. He trains hard so his punches have pop without requiring much enthusiasm when he's actually fighting. When hopkins fights, he might as well be playing a video game.
