With Floyd there is really no such issue, just a ***** of a fight to make because of Floyd (Haymon) and Arum issues.
      Good post!!!!!

I mean, Hatton got beat soundly, but he also got clipped by a good puncher so early that he was hurt almost from the opening bell onward. In a way, all it does is reinforce Pacquiao's speed and punching power is present at 140; not how he fares against a hard puncher at junior welterweight or welterweight, one with decent speed who doesn't get clipped before he's even got the 1st round jitters out of his system. We shouldn't take away the credit of Pac's win- but we also shouldn't view it was truly indicative of his potential at the higher weights.

I always said that in boxing being lucky can get you a win. I mean you could be a B or A fighter, and have a C fighter with power KTFO.

Oh it's nothing personal...I'm not like most of the crazies on this forum. I get where you are coming from.

My opinion on the matter though, is that Cotto is one of the best fighters out there today. He still is not on Floyds level though(still have to see how Floyd looks in his upcoming fight).

I also think that for those that think just cause Cotto is "bigger" than Manny, would have another thing coming if they were to fight.

Cotto is a very good fighter, and I take nothing away from him, but there are a few fighters I think can beat him. Floyd, Pac, Clottey, and I also picked Margo against him.

Wait...what's that you say? Pavlik is a middleweight and has no business fighting a much smaller welterweight- that such a thing is impossible and, due to size and power, not something we'd like to see?

Well, that's exactly how I feel about Pacquiao-Cotto. Don't let Oscar fool you into thinking Manny can hang at 147 - and I don't even see Cotto moving down any, and if he did, I still think it's a bad idea. This is a guy who was able to brawl with Margarito; he's still a good fighter (though I have to see him against Clottey still).

Pre-Margarito Cotto wouldn't even find a proposal from Pacquiao on his desk- and I think some people are taking that loss too seriously.
dont be an idiot pavvliks never ought at welterweight atleast pac fought at welter before

Cotto's defense still has weaknesses Zab was hitting him with very clean shots and buckled him a few times.. I think Floyd picks him apart with straight rights and wins a UD maybe even a TKO.........Cotto beats Manny if they meet 145 and above

                      True.

Cotto isn't going to get put down like that. He's just more of a skill boxer- not to mention his size. Miguel has speed of his own, a good boxing aresenal, and he's going to force Manny to go rounds. He'll throw welterweight size into his body attack, making Pacquiao take punishment to the body, then he'll keep the movement up and wade into the middle rounds without issue.

Manny gets battered to the body so much that, by the 4th or 5th, he's not as mobile as usual, not as fast, and can't keep up with Miguel. Cotto ****s him up at will, gets a KO by the 7th or 8th.

                      That's my prediction.
