Bradley-Guzman Won't Happen, Rejected By The WBO

guzman doesn't deserve the fight. campbell deserves it more. too bad shaw wants options.BoxingScene.com has just learned that the WBO rejected a proposed August fight between junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley and unbeaten challenger Joan Guzman. There were discussions between both sides and a verbal deal was reached. The fight was sent to the WBO for approval, and the sanctioning body rejected the fight. [details]Comment

So then you tell me why Guzman, who has never fought above 135 in his career, is not even ranked at 140, and is only ranked #11 at 135, should be able to skip not only the leading available contender in Nate Campbell, but also skip the Interim Champion in Lamont Peterson??
I'm actually curious as to why you think the WBO allowing this would have been a good thing.......Comment

i know some may suggest that its ****** but what if bradley jus said ill vacate and they fight anyways. if bradley has confidence he could think that hed jus go fight witter again for another alphabet strap.
... yeah it aint happeing i knowComment

I would have loved to see this fight but I don't see how this fight makes any sense for bradley. he doesn't gain anything legacy or money wise by beating guzman. He should be fighting established LWW's right now and let Guzman work his way up to earn a fight with him.BoxingScene.com has just learned that the WBO rejected a proposed August fight between junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley and unbeaten challenger Joan Guzman. Just saw the rankings! There would have been a lot of salty fighters if this one went on! I like guzman but come on man, how the *** can we justify this. A name means nothing if we are going by rankings. We would continuously get the same names recycled on the main stage and no new fresh faces. Oh, wait, this how it is any how!Comment

That was courtesy of the WBA. Right now, it seems 2 sanctioning bodies are consistently applying the rules, and thats the IBF and the WBO, and 2 bodies (WBC and WBA) just make it up as they go along......
I'll do you one better..... Even though Kotelnik just did a mandatory defense in Feb against Madiena, the WBA has sanctioned Ortiz-Madiena as an Interim title fight. I'd love to hear the explanation for that one.....lol
that is really disgusting. isnt there some kind of way to hold these organizations accountable to the rules? I mean what if the IBHOF somehow threatened to stop recognizing these fools? would that put pressure on them?Comment
