theres no way clottey wins by decision. he is not an active pressure fighter. if cotto boxes him like he did with the cheater the 1st half of the fight it will be an wide open decision for cotto
I'm not sure Clottey is much larger than Cotto in the sense that he can walk Cotto down.
The size issue gets thrown out the window automatically if you're not a pressure fighter (which Clottey isn't)
This isn't aimed towards you specifically, but people saying that Clottey walks Cotto down in my belief have really never seen an actual Joshua Clottey fight.
To piggy back off of your comment, people seem to think he can walk down and "hurt" Cotto ALA Mr Antonio Plasterito did.

Well I'll tell you this, Cotto needs to watch Clottey's counter uppercut he likes to throw, so he shouldn't stay inside longer than he should being Cotto is a sucker for the uppercut. If he boxes Clottey and picks his spots to throw a solid shot and back up, he could definitely give Clottey a lot of problems.

What I mean is, Clottey is a welterweight that will come in above 150-155, and he has taken some good body shots in the past from Judah and Margarito. Cotto will probably have difficulty hurting him. I agree with the fact that Clottey does not walk fighters down usually, he is a natural counter puncher.

Tek My Pounches, I got 10K Cotto over Clottey, deal?
Why would I make a deal like that when I think Cotto will win?
I think a win over Clottey brings Cotto out of the dark cloud of losing to Margarito in the fashion that he did.
Prior to the Margarito fight, besides Floyd, many were saying Cotto would be any of the other WWs of the time (Clottey being one of them). After one loss now people have turned the page and think Cotto is shot overlooking what you have to REALLY look at, both fighter's styles and overall abilities.
It's very tough being a follower of Boxing on a consistent basis and say now Cotto will have an extremely tough time with Clottey let alone losing. He didn't get to the top by pitty patting cream puffs.
alot of good points made in the thrad, agree with PRCAN that clottey is simply not active enough to get a UD.
personally i think clottey will score a late KO/TKO. clottey is the bigger, stronger man and his size will affect the bout even if he doesn't fight a pressure fight. how? because he will be able to 'tek cotto's ponches!' - lol!!
seriously though cotto has a great body attack, he throws his punches very well and very rarely leaves himself open, he has great technique. however i see clottey picking alot of these shots off with his high guard or his elbows, i expect him to counter the body shots with short sharp punches on the inside, if cotto goes for that left hook then i can see clottey landing his own right hand.

I think If Cotto can stay consistent to the body while throwing combos, I believe Clottey's guard may come down which will open more opportunities for Cotto to get off.
What do ya'll think? Is Clottey strong enough to withstand Cotto's left hooks to the body?
cotto's hooks aren't going to hurt clottey's turtle shell defense.
cotto's best bet is to potshot to at 12 round decision.
lol for a guy whos barely got 20k you seem to be pretty confident on your man cotto - im not gonna make no bets right now but i will closer to the fight.
