Will Cotto's Body Shots Affect Clottey?

I think If Cotto can stay consistent to the body while throwing combos, I believe Clottey's guard may come down which will open more opportunities for Cotto to get off.

What do ya'll think? Is Clottey strong enough to withstand Cotto's left hooks to the body?

Body shots affect everybody. The question is whether Cotto can get into a body rhythm cause Clottey will probably pick off a lot of body shots with his elbows.

      Excellent question:

I think it's one of Cotto's (Keys to success) to work the body early and often.

It'll take lots of work but I think Cotto is cut out for the challenge and will succeed!

If he can get them in precisely enough he could do some damage, Margarito got to the body a little I think, and he can punch fairly well down there.

Nope, and this will be a big factor in the fight. Clottey is thick for a WW. Cotto's body attack won't kill him like it does everybody else. When Cotto's best weaponry is neutralized, he's gonna have to stick n move more. If Clottey comes wit 12 rd stamina, which I think he will, he should get a UD.

Good point, Cotto has difficulty hurting the larger welterweights.

The only issue I have with that is Clottey hasn't been in with a fighter like Cotto who's body attack is without question one of the best in the biz on top of his overall offensive skills. I believe Clottey is strong, but he also hasn't been fighting very tough competitors as of late nor has he visibly hurt anyone with significance in comparison to Cotto and the guys he's already fought.

very tough fight, but like a friend of mine said...this could be a "Reminder" fight for many who believe Cotto has peaked as a fighter.

I'm not sure Clottey is much larger than Cotto in the sense that he can walk Cotto down.

The size issue gets thrown out the window automatically if you're not a pressure fighter (which Clottey isn't)

This isn't aimed towards you specifically, but people saying that Clottey walks Cotto down in my belief have really never seen an actual Joshua Clottey fight.
