What I will say is, Hopkin's has still had many advantages over many of his opponents. Be it size, speed, or experience.
The one's he lost to were guys with some speed in Calzaghe and Roy. Roy won comfortably IMO.
Taylor wasn't all that but managed to get a close fight.
Pascal managed to KD him. If Hopkin's did not have his chin in the past, he would have lost more possibly.

He did make 160, but he was a big MOFO.

He would struggle with guys like Dawson, Ward and Dirrell etc... IMO.

Styles makes fights and Pascal IMO is a fighter that is suited for Hopkin's.

Did you read the part where i said that he is not ******. So when I say that he isn't the smartest tool in the shed, it's not calling him ******, just overrated in smarts. A lot of people jump on the bandwagon that he is real smart.

He said this himself, "I'm the smartest fighter", and people jump on the bandwagon. He may be smart, but his athletics >>> his smarts. He is like Conan the Barbarian (starring Arnold), who got forced into slavery at a young age, and after years of hard labor turned into a Big, strong, brute warrior. It's circumstance that got him where he is at, not independent smarts like B-Hop (who made himself into what he is).

And his outside antics reflect his smarts or lackthereof. He said it himself, he doesn't study tapes of opponents. RJJ said the same thing. That is one of the most arrogant things you can do, yet he is getting away with it. Other fighters far smarter then Floyd couldn't get away with it.

So what is your ranking then in Smarts?

Also is it not smart for a guy to not study and get an A grade?

Of course using your revision time wisely is smart in one way, but getting the result is the main thing.

I thought to took about Hopkin's to you.

Firstly Hopkin's is fairly fast.
Secondly he has great condition.
He has decent power, and a great chin.
He has good footwork.
He has good reflexes.

Floyd trains and eats well pretty much all year around.
Floyd has a good defense.
Floyd can have a good offense.

Hopkin's has been able to use his rough house tactics, and right hand and low head for ages. It's hard to block a head and a right hand that is extremely fast.

Hopkin's fights on the ropes, and so can Floyd.

Floyd has gone up weight classes too.

Why are you stating the obvious, rephrasing what I already said. Don't teach me about Hopkins, I know he is fast, just not the fastest. Good power punch, but not one of the biggest punches around. That's what I said, no need to rephrase it with bad grammar.

Yes but Hopkins is 46 and Floyd is only 32/33, we have yet to see how he will carry himself in the years to come, if he keeps fighting that is.

I didn't say that, that is what this thread is about and you responded to my post which was specifically about people who hate Floyd with a passion. I never took you personally as that sort even if I don't always agree with what you say.


I said Floyd is full of shit, I don't listen to what he has to say. He is like a salesman always trying to sell something. I might put a bit of thought into it to try and understand why he says certain things and present a different side that what most people think to make people think but most never take it as such.

when Brian Kenny asks floyd why he is fighting Marquez at welterweight floyd answers "because he called me out" and when Brian kenny says alot of guys call you out floyd. why arent you fighting someone like Mosley at welterweight floyd replies "because i do what i want"

But at the ESPN interview he goes "I dont fight for bragging rights"

and on 106th and Park he goes "Im coming back to do what I do best. Which is be flashy and make money
