I dont know guys. With all the scrutiny over Pacquiao only facing old washed up fighters....I'm surprised noone has criticized Marquez's resume. With the exception of Diaz, all his best wins have come against significantly battleworn fighters.

First ballot Hall of Famer. He is also one of the best Mexicans to ever lace em up.

Boxing officials and fans don't just forget fighters and what they accomplished before their careers took a dive. Did people forget Azumah Nelson because he was outclassed by Pernell Whitaker or TKO'd by Sanchez?

Marquez gets mad respect and should definitely be an HOF even though he lost and drew with Pac, faced an old and washed up Barrera, and never fought Erik Morales. I bet if Marquez never met Pac we wouldnt be having this conversation cause come on, people give him tooooo much credit for the Pac fights cause surely MAB was old and he never stepped in the ring with EM.

                Marquez's big name opponents.
Too much hype with these two opponents but really look at the facts
Juan Diaz TKO (Seriously was Diaz even a Top P4P, he did get schooled by Nate Cambell)
Casamayor (Talk about Pac beating old fighters, Casamayor was old 36 when he meet Marquez and wasnt Casa on the verge of loosing to Katsidas before Katsidas got KOed)
Manny PacquiaoSD Loss and a Draw (Probably the main reason why Marquezs name gets tossed around cause of his close fights with Pac.
Marco A. BarreraUD (Marquez fans dont tell me Marco was in his prime when Marquez faced him at least Marco was in this fight more with Marquez then with Pac)
                Rocky Juarez UD
                Chris John L

These are Marquez's big names on his record. Everyone else are C or below fighters. Marquez fans can complain that Pac fights old fighters well take the old fighters out of this resume and what do you have
                1. Pacquiao
                2. J. Diaz
                3. Juarez
                4. John

Take Pac out of this resume you have nothing.

Pacquiao's resume is far more better then Marquez's resume even without Marquez.

I think that second to Pac, he has a really good resume, especially considering his age.

His KO of Casamayor can't be considered impressive. Casamayor should have lost his belt to Jose Armando Santa Cruz. It was a clear robbery! HBO had it at 118-109 for Santa Cruz. Spectators booed him when his hands were raised. All the announcers were unanimously disgusted with the result and one even said that that was not the first time Casamayor got a gift from the judges. If you reacall, it was the same Santa Cruz that David Diaz knocked out!

I think he has a good resume as well. And i think he should be in the HOF. I just dont think he will be a 1st ballot HOF'er unless he pulls miracles out of his hat in his next couple of fights.

And the fact that he can fight at the elite level at this age is a bit deceiving because he was largely inactive in his late 20s which kept him fresh.
