the reasoning is that jmm has not fought above 135. **edit** floyd is probably the most complete fighter jmm will face.

^^pac was really a one dimensional fighter at their fights. can't say he hasn't changed. nor can we say those fighters were as elite as jmm during those fights. so from his performances all we can take out of it was he has shown improvements and what he can carry out against either floyd and jmm will determine if those improvements he showed in those fights were cause he was facing not-so-great at the time opponents.

at least pac has gotten 2 in there and showed he still has whole arsenal and some.

      Quintana Shocks Paul Williams
      Sunday February 10, 2008
After dominating Antonio Margarito, Paul Williams was seen as a potential threat to either Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Miguel Cotto. Scratch that ... at least for now. Carlos Quintana took the WBO welterweight title from the previously unbeaten Williams by repeatedly landing clean, heavy shots throughout the bout. Yes, that's the same Carlos Quintana who was blasted out in five rounds by Cotto in his previous shot at a title.
The 6'1" Williams put on 17 pounds between the weigh-in and fight time but conditioning wasn't his problem as the 26-year-old threw his usual high volume of punches.

I don't think "refusing" is the right word. He wasn't asked to fight at 145, so how is he "refusing"? Regardless, Pacquiao calls the shots, not Cotto.

Why even ask this question anyway? Pacquiao is a 140lb fighter at the most. He isn't a legit Welterweight, the Oscar fight was a one-off, and Cotto enters the ring as a Middleweight. We don't even need to be having this conversation.

doesn't really apply to that situation because

          1) pwill made 147 to fight quitnana
          2) cotto can't make 140 to fight pac.

So since Floyd enters the ring at 147 pounds..Pac and JMM are fair fights for Floyd right.

answer these 2 questions and you will know what is fair and what isn't.

Asking Cotto to come to 140 is career threating..not cool from Pac.

WTF does this have to do with Mayweather? We are talking about Pacquiao and Cotto, in case you didn't notice.
