    JMM's highest weight division is 135, 2 divisions below the fight weight (The limit for the fight is not 147, incase anyone hadn't heard, so it's a WW fight). So, no, it's not the same...
    again with the " 2 divisions" thing. Its 9 lbs. he weighed that against pacquiao

      135 = Lightweight
      140 = Light Welterweight
      147 = Welterweight.

      = 2 Divisions.

      It's simple maths, it is a 2 division jump. No matter how you try to sugar coat it, it is. I'm a Mayweather fan, but this fight doesn't mean a lot. The only reason JMM has a chance is because of Mays 2 year lay off. The fight moving from 144 to 147 doesn't help much either. Also, it's up to 12 lbs, not 9lbs.

      147 - 135 = 12.

        odlh fought at 160, fought hopkins at catch weight of 158 lbs (oscar was at 154 anyway)
        trinidad was a belt holder at 160, fought there two-three times
        pavlik fought at 166 lbs catch weight, fought hopkins at 170 catch weight.
        jmm has only fought at 135 twice, he is moving up to 147 to fight mayweather who has fought there since 2005

          they're both at the top of the pound for pound rankings. I don't see a double standard.

            Exactly. Do people not realize that Hopkins had to drain some weight to fight DLH and Pavlik. The Trininad victory shouldn't be discredited at all. And how many pounds is Mr. Boat Buyer shreddin to fight JMM? Man the creator of this thread is an idiot.

              Oscar only went up 4-5 pounds really...
              Trinidad held a belt at 160...
              Pavlik was a clear favorite even though he moved up a weightclass...

              Let's leave B-Hop outta this.Those aren't the only names on his resume...

                    Pavlik's best weight is 160. Marquez's is 126, it's 18 pounds compared to 10.

                    Also Pavlik moving up in weight arguably retains more qualities then JMM does.
