Dawson vs. Green - Allan Looking To Corner Chad

New York – After learning of IBF and IBO light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson's interest in moving down to 168 pounds, Allan Green's mouth began to water. Now that Dawson has taken care of business by winning a second unanimous decision over Antonio Tarver, Allan Green has his napkin on his lap, eating utensils in hand, and is ready for supper. So he's too big and won't go down to 168 to face the best 168 fighter with a belt, yet he can do it for a 168 fighter whom is #7 and has no belt?

Makes perfect sense, there's no contradiction or problem there at all, Chad.

Much better than facing the guy many believe you didn't quite beat.

Heck, at least it's not Paul Williams at 168 like he also alluded to before. Christ all mighty, welcome to the LHW king Dawson, it's my time now, he said a few months ago. I like this guy, but do us a favour.

What makes you think he won't move down for the top fighters at 168? I've heard Dawson from his own lips say he wants to fight them.

On another note, if I were Dawson, I wouldn't move down for Allan Freakin' Green.

He wouldn't come down to 168 to face Kessler, is the bottom line, IMDAZED.

So why then is he willing to for someone whom is much less established, has no belt, and is far from as good or credible a win?

That's all I ask, as a guy whom by the way, wants the best for Dawson.

This isn't it, it's him fast tracking to an American name again instead of re matching Johnson, pursuing a fight with Kessler at 168 which he could do easily enough, heck even Froch or Bute.

The fact he entertains the idea of a fight with Paul Williams at 168 as well just makes it look even worse unfortunately.

Where did you get the idea he won't come down to face Kessler at 168?

Just curious. Funny how he wants the guy that beats Kessler though.

personally I prefer dawson to stay at 175 and fight glen johnson.

froch isn't even that huge a star in england.

I never understood the Glenn Johnson obsession on here.

Does a champion have to rematch everybody who he wins a close decision against? That's ridiculous. Dawson won the fight close but clear. He has the right to move down to 168, and is taking WAY more risk by moving down to a young, talented division than he would be by staying around 175.

Johnson has more losses on his record due to robberies than he does because of his opponent in the ring. The Dawson fight was close and could have been a draw.

Dawson is starting to look like the type of guy who targets older fighters and avoids the "best". I give him cred for fighting Adamek but since then, he has been less than impressive. Floyd did say that Dawson was the best fighter in the world, I guess he likes the way Dawson goes after guys that he knows he can beat- reminds him of himself, he said that he was the best too!
