I thought there was a lot of promise in what I've seen of Ward so far, so half of me didn't want to see him set back. The other half didn't want to see the title aspirations of a fighter I love rooting for put to bed.

But I expected Ward would probably UD Miranda.

Gonna go hit the Block and see if there's a download of this.
ward won a convincing decision, but that's what everyone expected.

Just watched. Worth tuning in for. Enjoyed the Oakland fight atmosphere, too. Sad to see Miranda dominated and subdued like that, because I really appreciate the guy and still held a flicker of hope that he might make a titlist. But it is what it is (wish he'd never gone down for that 2nd bite at Abraham ).

Agree it got unpretty at times, but given Miranda's awkwardness and volatility I think it was smart to mix up the inside and outside work to contain any potential for explosion. I can enjoy watching a fighter work that way for periods, anyway, so long as there's method to it and not an excess of fouling born of desperation (Ward bullying Miranda around in the 8th was something to see). Besides the ruggedness javelin_fangs predicted showing up, there was some great movement and use of range. Impressive, versatile performance against a difficult test. Much to recommend for anyone who was hoping to see Ward deliver on some of his promise. Now, if he could just develop his power a bit.

      Well done, Andre Ward.

He appeared to dominate to me. So were you impressed or not? Animate, baby.
