Ward will get his respect tonight

I noticed that some of you don't respect anyone until they beat names. You only respect names instead of skill. You clearly didn't notice Ward had improved dramatically by the time he fought Francisco Diaz, Rubin Williams, Jerson Ravelo and Sugar Poo Buchanan. It is what it is.

I know that most people on here expect Ward to win, but I've been surprised to read Miranda and some people on these boards thinking that Ward was going to "run away" from Miranda. If Miranda is expecting Ward to "run away" from him then he's going to get KO'd in the first half of the fight.

Andre Ward is not only more skilled than Miranda, but he's a rough and rugged fighter who's also bigger, stronger and faster than Miranda. When Miranda and the Ward naysayers see what happens tonight they'll be very surprised at how wrong their impression of Ward actually is.

I hope so he has been a prospect for awhile now and it's time he fought a real top contender. Hope he can pass his first test.

exactly. you have to wonder if ward's shot at superstardom has passed him by already. i know he's had injuries and what have you, but he's been moved a long at a very slow pace for a gold-medalist.

He may never be a superstar, which is a shame, but that doesn't mean he isn't going to be a great fighter. I think he's come through the ranks at a good pace and is now ready to take over one of the deepest divisions in boxing. But you're right he's probably lost out on a lot of the glitz and glamour that usually come with winning a gold medal.

oh, i think he will be a great fighter too. his skills are on another level. he should beat miranda decisively tonight. i just remember thinking at one time he had the total package (skills, looks, charisma, etc.) to be a de la hoya-type of fighter. i feel like at this point in his career he should be more of a house hold name and more recognized by the mainstream media.

I wouldn't say Ward is rough and rugged. He's been buzzed and down vs some bum from the midwest. I'm pulling for Ward but I defn wouldn't put money on it especailly at 3 to 1. We gonna find out alot about Ward tonight. If he can take Miranda's best punch and counter and make Miranda pay then he'll be ok. If he feels the power and starts running then he gonna be in for a long night. It's put up or shut up time for Ward!

Ward is rough and rugged. He's modeled his style after early Bernard Hopkins and current Glen Johnson. That's rough and rugged diggy doc. Be prepared to be surprised tonight. Ward is going to put up and make Miranda shut up.

actually i think ward will get a really tough fight tonight and barely win on points.

I will be impressed if he destroys or dominates miranda.
