i don't really care what any fighter gets paid. that's not why i watch boxing. if he is making that much by fighting marquez than more power to him. i still find it hard to believe, but i don't care one way or the other.
Floyd did get 20 Million for WWE....
Sports Illustrated even reported it when they did the top 35 sports earners and I think Floyd was #3 in 2007 and 2008

Sure seems like a lot of money. I just don't right now see how the revenue will match up with that figure.

Think of some of the superfights. Not a lot of guys got 15 million.
Hopkins vs De La Hoya did 1 000 000 buys and Hopkins was only guaranteed 10 million before the PPV revenue was split. I doubt this fight does more than 650K buys so I see no way PBF makes 15 million. The numbers just don't add up.

Again, the other guy is getting 4 and these 2 probably get that guarantee without getting much on the PPV side. Stop looking at 1 fighter. You look at the total. Its 19mil. Pac & Hatton got 20-21mil with them getting a bigger PPV percentage and them knowing that they will sell more PPV's. Its not that far off to me. I said that 500,000 would be ok because they know they can cover it but 600,000 is what they want for everyone else to feel happy and I think they feel that they can pull it off after the sell the hell out of it. Alot of times your gurantee comes with NO PPV percentage or very little and other times it comes with a good amount of percentage with the PPV. Im sure that Floyd & JMM wont get that much of a cut of the PPV, thats why the gurantee is so high. You can say what you want but you best beleive that Floyd is not going to make a ton against Oscar, a ton against Hatton, and then come back to fight for scraps. He's definatly getting 15mil, thats why its on PPV.

He wanted regular HBO but had to do PPV to get paid what he wants. If he was only going to get something like 8 then he wouldve waited for Pac and took the risk of going straight to him. I mean, how much did Floyd get paid for the Baldy fight compared to what Pac-JMM were making fighting eachother? He got paid alot more then them even though the buys were similar. Its not as black & white are youre making it seem. Some wondered how Oscar made so much even though he was the #1 guy and the reason he got payed so much was because he gave his opponent scraps. Thats what Floyd is doing now. Again, its not 15 & 12. Its 15 & 4. Dont look at what he's making, look at the total

I need to post the thread the promoter Terry Trekas had on here of how revenue is made and what things cost so you can see why it has to do a ton more than you think to be successful.

He didn't get 20 million for WWE.

              That is well documented.

People here think money grows on trees.

              It doesn't.

right, and then it was confirmed the actual figure was closer to $3 million.

jmm is a considerable underdog so:

                    1) jmm risks his health
                    2) jmm risks his chance to fight pac in a rubbermatch
                    3) jmm risks his undefeated streak
                    4) jmm risks his p4p #2 spot
                    5) if anyone gets knocked down or KOed its jmm
                    etc...

floyd is taking this fight as a tune up. be real man.
