It's only lately that Asian fighters are getting noticed. Fortunately, Manny has made a headstart for the Pinoys.

I look forward to the coming years where more Asian fighters get their exposure on TV because boxing in South Korea and Thailand are on a hiatus right now compared to Pinoy boxing. It would be great for SOuth Korea and Thailand to get their boxers on TV. South Koreans in particular because they are the Asian counterpart of Mexicans, tough as nails and got lots of stamina.

Im just making my point Gerry issued a challenge to Johnny Tapia. he was a champ and a legitimate force in the division. Why is only now that he is actually getting the big fights? I am making the point that proximity and marketability have everything to do to the Philippines exposure in boxing.

The problem with most of the Pinoy prospects is that they try too hard to be like Pac that they lose.

Same with us, they have the must be like Chavez mentality and don't have the power or chin to do that.

agreed. Good post. Philippines also has a chance since more youngsters are lacing up gloves following Manny's footsteps. But I don't count Mexico out having a fighter equal to or better than Manny. I don't count the Philippines out either. Either way you are right we should just enjoy the sport regardless. I enjoy all Mexican fighters and hope JMM whoops on Mayweather because I am a big fan of JMM.
