Roy destroyed his body coming down in weight which Tarver did the same thing when he fought Hopkins. But nice try with not knowing nutrition, weight-loss, age, and history.
Roy looked like a ghost in the first fight. He destroyed himself and he wasn't going to ever return to form at his age after what he did.
Plus, I wouldn't even say that was a Prime Jones Jr. who moved up to fight Ruiz. Even during his days at 175, I used to discuss if Roy was on the decline at the barbershop with the boxing guys. Many seem to agree he was slipping but he was so good he could get away with it. I would put 168 Roy vs. Calzaghe.Comment

Manny was knocked out Twice in his prime. Debate that.
Note: Just in case I miss it and someone does reply to it, whoever responds send me a message if I don't respond. Just in case I log out and don't remember to come back.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 05-16-2009, 07:16 AM.Comment

p4p i think calzaghe would go through hopkins resume undefeated, i think he would have beat a young RJJ. RJJ is a talent but hes not a fighter like calzaghe he doesn't have that heart when he is asked to go into the trenches, taylor would gas against calzaghe, johnson would be countered to death.
wright would give calzaghe problems, now hopkins fought winky at a weight that clearly didn't suit him but if a fight had taken place between winky and zaghe that was a weight that suited both fighters (168), zaghe would have trouble with the authoritative punching (like he did with kessler), jab, timing and high defense. but its just so hard to pick against zaghe because he would find a way probably through his workrate/activity.
if the tarver and pavlik that showed up against hopkins showed up against calzaghe he would have UD'd both with ease.
as for RJJ resume i think calzaghe would have beat hopkins. i think toney is someone who can beat calzaghe because he knows how to counter, however if the same lethargic and lazy toney had turned up zaghe would have had an easy night.
ruiz would have flattened calzaghe within 5 rounds.
CONCLUSION; winky from (hopkins resume) would have given zaghe problems, especially if the fight was at a weight that suited winky, but the fact that winky was boxing at too high a weight would make it easy for zaghe.
toney would have given calzaghe problems but again if he had showed up like winky did for hopkins (lazy, lethargic) then it would have been easy for calzaghe. ruiz (from RJJ's resume) would have KO'd calzaghe no doubt about that.Last edited by hookoutofhell; 05-16-2009, 07:01 AM.Comment

So wait, Prime Roy would lose but Ruiz would flatten him? I gotta give you points on originality.Comment
