How could any of these ******s say Calzaghe has more skills than Hopkins? I personally believe Hopkins made Calzaghe look foolish, and showcased his exceptional defensive and countering skills in that fight, and the decision could have just as easily went to Hopkins who dropped Calzaghe, and wobbled him numerous times in the fight.

Hopkins is much better according to resume. Including the fact that a hopkins much past his prime showed defense that joe really didnt know how to attack, and he was barley out of his peak. Hopkins is a legend people who dont follow boxing know him, and the other hand JC a non boxing fan has never heard of the good (but not great) welsh.

Windmilling slaps of death that hit air = win points on the judges scorecards.

I don't think his fans actually sat down and closely watched that fight. The number of punches he was missing, and missing in a comical fashion was hilarious.

              They did. Just two things:

              Typically-

              1. They don't know **** about boxing so they have no clue what they are seeing

              and

              2. they couldn't score their way out of a wet paper bag (admittedly most people on this forum are like this). Ask for a detailed score breakdown about how they had Calzaghe destroying hopkins and an explanation for every round score. You'll get SILENCE.

Love em both but I got to go with Hopkins. Most title defenses of any Middleweight in history and destroyed bigger names. Though I did think he lost to Calzaghe.

some fighters aren't meant to be in certain weight classes - AA, mora dont belong at 160, SSM/mayweather doesn't belong at 154, DLH didn't belong at 160, neither did tito, winky/kelly had no buisness at 170....

in fact **** it, can't be arsed going over the same ole **** again
That's because you are wrong, You look ******, And you are in denial, rationalizing for your favorite fighter. Pavlik easily has the frame to go to light heavyweight and Mayweather has a great chance of winning at 154. Any of those guys you mentioned could have won if they were a little better.

ffs this unbelievable - maybe i am rising to the bait here but **** it

                      im in denial?

joe is my favourite fighter yet i acknowledge he slaps, he waited too long to make the big fights happen and some of his defenses are p!ss p00r (evans ashira, manfredo, tocker pudwill).

you wanna know why hes my favourite because he has that extra something that only champs do, that championship gear. when hes trouble he raises his game (kessler fight), when hes hurt he comes back twice as strong (mitchell fight), even when hes not at his best he does what he has to do to get the W (hopkins fight).

the main reason hes my favourite is that when his biggest asset (punching power, 20ko's from his first 20 fights) was taken away, he still found a way of overcoming that. fighters as they get older rely on their punch, accuracy, timing not their speed, stamina or activity - the fact that joe has done that shows the guy has a tremendous will and heart. he has that x factor that great fighters have and that ability to overcome, adapt and improvise.

im sorry but if some people can't see that joe is something pretty special then you dont know boxing.

                      __________________________________________________ _______________

pavlik has the frame to go to LHW yes but anyone who saw pavlik vs taylor at 166 knows that he looked off, whats more on fight night he was giving away way too much.

some fighters imply can't go up and down the weights but it doesn' devalue their achievements - hatton, tzyu, hagler, vargas. all these guys are more effective in their weight classes, some fighters like williams, SRL, hearns, RJ can go up and down weights.

mayweather would lose to just about every guy at 154 not because they are better fighters but simply because at some stage the weight difference between the fighters is simply too much come fight night - kirkland, angulo, williams, vargas, winky all these guys would punish money may.
