Yes Hopkins is a genius as he showed everyone that without Pavlik being able to double up on his jab he is simply ineffective.
I dont think it was a weight issue for Pavlik, it was just he got figured out by Hopkins - simple as that really.

Pavlik is a one trick pony who happens to be so good at that trick, he feels less inclined to execute something new when the time calls for it. Then comes Hopkins, a multi-dimensional fighter who exploits Pavlik's monotonous style, takes him into deep water, then drowns him. Yes, Hopkins is a genius.

It would of been a much better win for Calzaghe, in terms of legacy. Beating the prime Middlweight Champion, who had not yet tasted defeat. But Calzaghe chose to beat a very past his best Roy Jones Jr, who he said he would never fight a few years before, due to him being finished.
I agree 100%. He could have done so much more for his legacy fighting Pavlik and I'm sure he would have beat him easily as well. And on top of that, he most likely STILL could have fought Jones after Pavlik, so he would still have got his "money fight."
