That's why Floyd is slapping back with the JMM fight (in order to get to Pac). I think that may have also been the reason why Pac looked pissed when Floyd's name was brought up by Larry Merchant.

I thought he did challenge Mosley but Mosley had other things to do at the time???

For Cotto: Arum fighter. Cotto may have accepted a match with Floyd if Arum gave him the fight, but Arum's only intention for Floyd was for him to fight Margarito which Floyd wasn't going to do since he wanted Oscar. Now, would Floyd have accepted the fight....not sure. Maybe if the money was high. But that is the problem with today's boxing and some of these fighters. Once they get a check to pay for a Mansion and a Ferrari, they want the same amount again.

It would have been interesting to see if these fighters weren't paid a lot (like back in the day) and were basically forced to fight more often. As long as they have high paying salaries, fighters will fight less and pick and choose the big money fights only (once they get to a certain prestige).

It depends on what is true with Floyd on why he came back. If he really does need to pay back bills and the L.A. Times report is accurate with his quote that he wants to fight 3x a year, then he will be fighting a lot longer then JMM and a possible Pac fight. Roger mentioned Shane for a future fight in a recent interview and also though Floyd would stay longer. And a while back, Roger mentioned Cotto as a likely opponent.

It's up to Floyd now and I do think he needs to take on either Cotto or Shane.

His legacy at 147+ isn't much at all. He needs Shane and Cotto for that.
You got your point.I'm still hoping for a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight...I hope these talks are just plain Bull**** and if Mayweather wins against Marquez, Pacquiao-Mayweather will just follow right away for the sake of you,me,his fans/haters,pac fans/haters and for everyone who loves boxing....

True indeed. Many boxers continue to fight after they reach 30.

            Agree.

But I'm still looking for Floyd to fight Cotto and/or Shane after Pac (if he gets Pac and beats him.

First he needs to beat JMM.

Floyd vs. Pac will be huge for boxing as well.

              How about his health?

He goes into fights with messed up hands that aren't going to heal.
He also talked about other problems like his back (which tends to happen with agility fighters that move their upper body often).
He was already on the decline physically and I would argue mentally.

And the only reason Pac was "P4P" in the first place was because Floyd retired so Pac got his by default as well.

I would rather see Pac go up against a style that has bothered him in the past. He should have a better chance against Floyd now than ever. If he can beat even this version of Floyd, that's another matter and we'll wait and see.
And it would be interesting to see if Floyd at this point in his career/life can handle someone like Pac. So far, Freddie/Arum dont' seem to think so.
so if pac does win. i'm saying both fighters are p4p best and both have a legit chance of winning. your going to have all the damn excuses in the world. already lined up?

excuse: oh he just isn't the same. (fixed your excuse so it ends all discussion if he loses to pac)

If you are disappointed, imagine how 90 million people will be feeling if Pacman retired. There will be a huge flood in the Philippines for 40 days and nights, because of these people's tears...

Arum is to blame, that Pacquiao fought a shell of Oscar and a damaged goods Hatton. Arum is genius for getting things done. Bob Arum "The Great Negotiator".

Why? Are you privy to Pacman's affairs? GTFO
