I don't see anything wrong with Manny retiring. Fighters can retire at any point in their career in my opinion. The only thing he won't take with him is being the best of this generation. Floyd can easily reclaim that if he steps up to the plate and beats JMM in his next fight and follows that up with a victory over Shane and/or Cotto.

I'm not sure on Pac's politics or how he will do, but if he is going into Politics to make his country better, why not. He has a big Name now on the World stage to bring attention to his country. He seems to have positive intentions for his country and why wait. One fight can change everything. What if he gets seriously hurt and can't function properly; there goes his political career.

If he gets into Politics (or when I should say), the best thing for him would be to surround himself with good, smart, reliable and honorable people to help him out....as well as study up on the field.

    Nothing wrong if he retires.

Plus, he has one fight left at the end of the year if true; that could be against Floyd. If that is his last fight, both fighters have to go all out because there might not be a rematch or at least in Floyd's case if he loses.

Now going up against Manny, you earn your paycheck, that's for sure, LoL!
these idiots are just bitter because if ever Pacquiao-Mayweather will not happen (which I hope not because I fcuking want this fight to happen) until Pac retires, Floyd's legacy will just be a garbage ****.Floyd needs Pac more than Pac needs him because defeating Pacquiao will cement his legacy on boxing history since he's scared to death of fighting guys in his own territory like Mosley, Cotto, Williams etc and his ****head fans and pretending to be his fans who just came out from nowhere here after the Pacquiao-Hatton fight are bitching on Pacquiao ducking their boy...man..what a shame...
Even if Pac retires now, his legacy will just be greater than Floyd.

floyd fans are becoming haters quick. i bet they had no problems at all when floyd retired. how many boxing fans can utterly speak the truth of floyd being a known ducker? how the **** can they say anything about any other boxer.

pac has a legit reason to leave. fighting since 16. one of the richest in the filipines with hopefully good intentions.

floyd fans can get p4p back by default!! cong****.

        pac vs jmm

i rather see a war than a marathon.

im not the one in the ring, pac can retire anytime he wants, hes had a great career and he shouldnt have to fight anyone to have to prove anything to anyone, any fight at this point just enhances his legacy, there isnt anything more he needs to prove, the only real question mark at this point is who is better, pacman or mayweather, the only way to decide it is for them two to fight, but if pac is tired and doesnt want anymore to do with the sport, i am no one to judge, im not the one taking a ****ing beating so fans can say "OMG HE DIDINT DUCK ______"

Floyd doesn't need Pac, but he will have to beat JMM and then step up to face Cotto and/or Shane. If he wins them all, he is going to be placed higher than Pac (in my opinion).

Pac still has 2 KO losses; a loss against past prime Morales and two fights against JMM that were very close and disputable (at least in the second fight).

What Floyd may be doing or at least I think some are thinking it, is taking the fight with JMM to get to Pac in order to slap down any threat to his "Best of his Generation" legacy. Get rid of Pac and you may not have to fight Cotto/Shane. If you don't fight Pac, you need Cotto and Shane more than ever.

To be the best, you have to beat the best, and the best is Mayweather Jr. Uugh!! Marquez knows this, why does Pacquiao pretend not to understand it?

And Floyd didn't have legit reasons to leave?

                How about his health?

He goes into fights with messed up hands that aren't going to heal.
He also talked about other problems like his back (which tends to happen with agility fighters that move their upper body often).
He was already on the decline physically and I would argue mentally.

And the only reason Pac was "P4P" in the first place was because Floyd retired so Pac got his by default as well.

I would rather see Pac go up against a style that has bothered him in the past. He should have a better chance against Floyd now than ever. If he can beat even this version of Floyd, that's another matter and we'll wait and see.
And it would be interesting to see if Floyd at this point in his career/life can handle someone like Pac. So far, Freddie/Arum dont' seem to think so.

Calling Mayweather a runner is just more hate. He set up against Hoya in the middle of the ring and only moved to get off of the ropes. He beat up Hatton inside. Why keep making up lies to discredit him? Both are great fighters. They have very different styles. They should fight to settle who is really the best of this generation.
pacfans are equally eager to see "P4P SUPREMACY", trust me on this!!
much as you guys want to see pac's ass whipped,....we likewise want to expose Lil Fraud jr and have his d**k ass handed to him in a silver platter........... the feeling is mutual, trust me again!! hikhikhik

what excuse, floyd doesnt fight like he did at 130-140. If pac and floyd were going to square off at 130 back in floyds knockout days, this fight wouldnt really even be all that close like it is now. its not an excuse its ****ing reality, not that you care about that sort of thing.
