Fact is Cotto couldn't finish him and Mosley completely annihilated him. Cotto and Mosley fought each other to what was basically a draw.

Mosley was effective against Margarito because he was able to hit his body. This was one thing Cotto was unable to reach. To add, Mosley would clinch after flurries which minimized the effectiveness of Margarito's punches. The fights between the three is an example of how the results of fights cannot be judged based on previous performances.

Oh man....

Considering that Cotto fought with his back against the ropes and backtracked non stop and gave Margarito all the momentum and let him fight his fight with no defense or game plan to fall back on, it's no wonder he got beaten up.

Mosley fought the same guy but he fought him with the right game plan needed to beat that type of fighter. Don't let him come forward, clinch when he gets in and smother him, don't fight off the ropes and always move in and walk him along with ****ing him to the body.

That first body shot that Mosley hit Marg with just about crippled him right there. That was one of the hardest right hand body shots I can remember ever seeing and it landed perfectly and Marg nearly went down from it. Right then I think Mosley thought to himself "I've got this dude".

How come before the Marga v Mosley fight Margarito was this amazing champion who Floyd had retired because he was soooo scared of him, and now all of a sudden people give Margarito no credit at all? Mosley did a stunning job on Margarito and would beat Cotto if they fought again

What do you mean? All Mosley meant is that whether or not he had anything in his wraps it would not have made any difference because Mosley didn't allow Margarito to fight coming forward with any momentum and didn't allow him the room to work freely the way Cotto did.

It is so easy to see the difference in the way the two guys fought and the reason why Mosley beat the ****e out of him and Cotto didn't. Cotto said afterward when asked why he didn't clinch "I will never clinch in a boxing match because I don't think that's real fighting" or something absurd along those lines. That is what lost him the fight, along with moving backwards and giving Marg all the momentum he needed and all the room in the world to work and break Cotto down along the ropes. ******, foolish boxing by Cotto.

WRONG. the guy that approved the handwraps was the 2nd assistant because the guy that always check the wraps was on another fight. evangelista said it was his mistake because that assistant didn't had any experience on wraps.

that was the main diff between mosley and cotto. mosley clinch to prevent cheato to throw. cotto didn't clinch in the fight.

Had Magarita actually had plaster gloves he would of beaten the **** out of Shame Fraudley but because of Naz the plaster was taken out.

DOnt be fooled, had Cotto fought the same Magarita that Shame Mosley he would of knocked him out in 3 rounds.

I never said Margarito was not tough the dude can take hits with the best of them but the fact is Cotto was giving him a clinic for the first 6 rounds until his legs gave up on him and he din't have the same power because of the punishment he was receiving by plaster gloves.


I am not trying to take anything away from Mosley he is a great boxer but if you look at that fight you will see Margarito looked like a bum from the start and the few punches he hit did nothing to Mosley.

Reason is simple Mosley tied Margarito up and Cotto ran around the ring. Mosley came forward when he punched Cotto was fighting backing up the whole fight. Mosley hits harder then Cotto (fact) Mosley has a better chin then Cotto (fact) Mosley had a better game plan than Cotto (fact) Mosley got faster hands than Cotto (fact) yes even at 37 years old. Richardson is a better trainer then Evangelista Cotto and saw more in the ring and instructed his fighter better. Remember "swim with out getting wet" some of the best **** I ever heard in the corner. Also Mosley used his jab and went to the body he dug some serious rght hands to Tony's gut.
