Cotto, Valero are Both Options For Pacquiao, Says Arum

Agree.
If you really look at it, Pac doesn't have to fight Cotto or Shane or Floyd. He can stick with fighters at 140. The biggest Fan interest would still be Floyd but....................
Pac's not a 135 fighter anymore. Freddie explained this. Pac told him that they were moving up to 140 because 135 was to hard to make. Pac showed up at 147 for his fight with Diaz. He even said Pac was as high as 152 with 6% bodyfat during the Oscar training.Comment

I think Bob's not ducking for Manny, it's more like a leverage in the negotiating table (PBF, Haymon), but you do have a point. It's a win-win situation for Arum. He'll let Cotto fight Pac as long as he re-signs with Top Rank, either way, he will still have the winner of the fight in his stable. If Valero managed to upset the applecart and beat Pacman, he will have a new "Pacman" to build up on...
He is showing his true colours and thinkin about himself and toprank!
Not about boxing or what the fans want to see,
id say bob himself would probably make just as much money from Pac and Valero then he would from pbf vs pac since if not maybe a lil more,
since both guys are in his stable!Comment

I think the main reason that Freddie keeps insisting on a catch weight is to limit Pacman's obvious weight disadvantage against his opponent the night of the fight. That's what I thought of as a viable solution. No catch weight, same day weigh-in. if Cotto gains 20 pounds in an hour and a half, then so be it! lol
officially weigh in at 147 but limit the rehydration to 152,... when they climb the ring.Comment

though his last 4 fights have been at 130 , 135 , 147 and 140.
it's just he doesn't want to watch his weight anymore. he's comfortable with no or minimal weight drain. can't blame him.Comment

pac can make 135 if he really wants to. his last 4 fights he weighed almost the same fight night (if we can trust the unofficial weigh in weight) even

He showed up at 138 for the weigh-in vs. Hatton...so yes, if he wants to diet down 3 more pounds to make 135, maybe he could. Each pound to lose is tough though. He is absolutely shredded. Even 152 pounds at 6% body-fat is crazy.
But how would it affect him on fight-night at his point? He is used to the process of dehydrating his body and the rehydrating back up 10+ pounds but that could take its toll at some point.
He was 147 for Diaz and 148 for Hatton for fight-time weights. Roach does say that his target weight by fight-time is 147.Comment

So if Pac fights Velero, Velero would have to move up to 140 despite only having just arriving at 135 from 130?Comment

what are they gonna do if a fighter rehydrates too much? make him piss and not drink water?
only thing that matters is the official weigh in. the purpose of a catchweight is to limit how much cotto puts on after weigh in.Comment
