Lol who cares, freeze out mayweather like he's been freezing out top competition in his last 3 divisions. Pac don't need him. Boxing may need the fight, but Pac doesn't. Mayweather's never gonna reach Pac's mainstream appeal, he'll never have his country literally stop to watch him fight, he won't have his face on a stamp, WTF does pac need him for? He's got a ton of great fights out there, and more fan friendly fights. Let mayweather go prove himself vs. a top welter & maybe then entertain him & his track shoes.Comment

It might backfire:
If Floyd beats JMM decisively, especially by KO (which has never happened to him before despite Pac fighting him twice, so it might be unlikely), then I will go out on a limb and say Most Boxing Fans will want to see Pac vs. Floyd fight and if it doesn't happen, people will know the reason: Team Pacquiao. That's why Floyd is fighting JMM. What is a shame is that it seems (if we go by Roach), that Pac wants the fight but it is Roach/Arum that don't at this point.
Personally, I don't see why not. If there was ever a time to beat Floyd it would be now. This isn't the same fighter that was fighting at 130-140 or even with his first fight at 147 against Mitchell. He was on a slow decline both Mentally and Physically heading into his Retirement Check against Oscar....then Hatton. Add that to the long layoff and his reasons for coming back may be financial and not for fun and legacy...that might be worth the risk given you have Pacquiao.
Now they'll wait to see how he does against JMM and if they see he has slipped more, they'll probably take the fight. Most people will never look at the slip because he hasn't lost yet. "O" tends to mean you are still at your best in the casual mindset.
What this could do is force Floyd to fight Mosley next and if he fights Mosley, Shane could take something out of him, thus allowing Pac's odds to go up.
They could also hope Shane beats him or if JMM can beat him first.
However, I would suggest staying away from Cotto because Cotto could take something away from Pac unless they can get Cotto to come down to 142/3 since he will be a weakened version of himself.
All this would lead to the fight being next year which means Floyd will be 33 by that point.
It's about being smart.
Now, if Floyd has managed to gather himself back to his Old Ways, bringing back the version that was fighting from 130-140, with this coming out of retirement actually being a resurrection...then Pac will be in trouble. How likely is that? Not likely. We continue to change as a person with time and what Floyd was then is not going to be him now. His objective would be to be the best he can be at this point in time. Physically, he is not going to get better and has shown a decline from his under 147 days. But Mentally, he has a chance of lighting that fire up again like he was when he was fighting below WW.
Personally I think PBF will come out resurected, I think he hasn't stopped trainning much, he was reported sparring since January, he won't have ring rust. I see him returning challenged by what Pacman has done and with the intention of making the last big run, for the money and for the legacy....fighting JMM, Mosley, Cotto & PAC.Comment

I laugh at the people that say Pac is scared of Floyd. What does he have to be scared of??? Scared of losing? I think Pacquiao with all the challenges he has taken throught his career has showed that he is not scared of losing. Is he scared of getting hurt? As if floyd is gonna be aggressive enough to hurt Pac. Hell i'll be shocked if floyd KO's marquez! Really ff this fight against Floyd doesnt happen its because of Arum and Floyd. Plain and Simple!Comment
